was in the garage today after sorting ute and trailer out for warrants anyway carried on from where I had left it in the boot got some shrinkers and stretchers of a mate and man it’s good so was able to do the corner on the bottom valance will post pic after the weekend , Hey Gary I had a play with the height adjustment on coil over and it’s so easy no need to muck with spring, it will just be sorting damper once on the road

Posts: 775Hi all have put front end all back together still waiting on the wilwoods had a slight issue with sway bar it’s too thick for the link bar so will have shave some off the bushes , got a brand new power steering rack as well just got to sort a pump but one that can be use on the lsa later , one piece drive shaft all done ,plan over the break is to get the rear panelling done so unstitch the tail light rear and put a new one on and finish the boot floor
Have changed plans slightly so next year going to strip paint off whole car, put on a rotisserie do all the fab work mini tubs, rust, will be getting a drop tank made with the filler out the rear between tail lights and use a hq or torana number plate hinge plate, 3″ v bands for exhaust
also thinking about hand brake and found a photo of a small rotor of the drive shaft with a mechanical calliper pictures below
pictures of motor it’s been apart still looks good also the rear panel

Posts: 775Sweet Dave I might go see the guy that’s going to cert mine , the loop will have to be oval to compensate the drop when up in the air then you have to put reinforcing in as there will be nothing strong enough to bolt to
Stupid Nissan driver probably modified something now we get screwed

Posts: 775hey don’t they have a factory drive shaft loop like the vb – vl so shouldn’t need any more even if you had a one piece you only want to hold up the gear box end any way , I’m in nz as well and my vk didn’t need an extra one just used factory one !!!!!!!

Posts: 775Hey yip going t56 so tremec have decided to go 9″ Detroit would never put a spool in as I’ll be driving on the street a lot , I had a one piece shaft and 9″ in the vk with adjustable top arms so was able to adjust pinion angel ,
as for axles went through two before I got a billet one made just on one side as other side was not modified

Posts: 775As cava said any picture ,
hey immort… yes have done that prat of the homework and I have to put certain strengthen parts in where coilovers would mount too as you said could not use the existing as not designed for it
Hey Gtrboyy just thinking if you just move the shock mount over when doing mini tubs to keep the shock mount how dose the spring sit on the custom bottom tubular arms ?, but if there is a way of doing that and being able to still adjust ride height on spring , then I can run a watts linkage ,,also I am going to run a 18″ wheel with maybe a 255-265 anything too wide and it won’t corner nicely , it will see the drag strip that I have 16″ by 9″ with M/t that with mini tub will fit under guards
thoughts

Posts: 775Thanks Gtrboyy is the cost the reason you wouldn’t go coil overs again or is it a bitch to set up.
I am getting drop tank and filler will be at the back behind the number plate with the number plate hinge of a torana so twin pipes one either side of tank
Hey cava in NZ we just need to get it certified and someone that has a welding ticket to sign the work off I have an engineer mate who build of road 4 wheel drives so he know how to work out the geometry
