Yip soda blasting is out from what you just said and it does not remove rust three different places have said this about soda  so down to dip striping ( I know there is more work as to resealing all the seams but it just gets everything ) or garnet blasting lower pressure than sand , for the garnet cost 1500-2000 grand full car inside out , have not got a price for the dip striping yet

Hey need more info what model what motor standard mounts or custom , if this helps I have currently a 308 in a vb with a vr t56 also have the same box in a vk with the 304 and the shifter came up about 20-30mm to the rear of the car no cutting needed just moving the riveted plate back towards the rear , in the vk had to massage the tunnel by the shifter for the reverse lockout but didn’t need to in the vb (go figure on that one )

Cheers guys I would like a good sounding exhaust but sometimes you just want it quiet I suppose it’s a balance with hp you need to get the gasses out ,with the vk it had twin 2 1/2 two mufflers then 3″ over diff into another muffler  sounded nice but tuner did say it was restricted but then the super charger was louder too

Hey guys was going to start a tread but this is already here, I am going to strip the whole car inside outsidewant a bare metal start , so have talked to a sandblaster who has done work for me and has come out mint, asked about doing a car only thing it takes time and patience , but just looking at options if any one has dealt with the different methods, so sand blasting gets every thing rust included , soda blasting does not get rust out , dip stripping strips every thing sealer rust paint filler but my not get paint back into every part, not interested in paint stripper or sanding

Hi Gtrboyy  I have looked and made measurements and I am going to do what you have suggested with just moving the tub over enough for the shock to be closer to chassis so 1 1/2 – 2″ so cheers for the info

up date picture of boot done , finally  found a 9″ from a vc commodore already shorten all mounts done billet axle short side open centre but will put Detroit with 3:9s in, came complete with disc brakes and control arms $1200good deal, so will be getting rid of the whole brake set up and control arms, going to use adjustable top   arms white line and custom bottom arms with adjustable spring height , for brakes 315mm rotors and 4 pot wildwood with hand brake off the diff head

also brought a new toy for the garage a sand blaster cabinet had a play today and very impressed anyone thinking of getting one it’s well worth it just to do all the small things

    9″ diff

    sand blaster

    parts all cleaned up

dam photo bucket is slow :-(
