Posts: 775Hey all it’s been a while but plans have changed I found a better car to start with a lot less work for what I want to do so now I have a 83 vh commy a 92 year old was still driving it he had it 27 years so it’s in good condition just the common things like boot lip and a couple surface rust bits but easy to fix it has the 3.3 blue motor but goes well did a round trip to Auckland so about 1200ks ,,, so I have been doing work on the vb and it’s just about done going to sell this one , have got all the interior back in not going to put console back in they just look ugly, I have removed the 308 given that a clean up and paint (black got rid of the green) have cleaned up engine bay and sprayed that as well so just putting it back together so will be a nice clean factory 308 sle with a 6 speed so hope it will sell quick , still got to do brake and fuel lines as old ones were f*&ked pictures

Posts: 775Hi the vn-vs are all the same I don’t think it lowers it any more than the orginal but it just means its under the radiator you could add to it with taps to get to lower a standard bumper only sits were the valance is so no further back the that so penty of room , fans are au (ford) work really well, the gold vk had a 355 vortech s/charger 480rwhp and fans keeped it cool hope that helps

Posts: 775we are lucky here in nz we don’t have to run charcoal or emisisons so putting the lsa in the vb will just need certification and a db test (85 or 90 decibels )

Posts: 775Hey all in nz we can not use rubber lines for fuel has to be hard lines under car that is ,each end can have small amount, when i do mine i am going to run it inside the car with the brake line as long as it has bulk head fittings so not joins in the car

Posts: 775I agree Gary they are nice but when some one does somthing more to there liking and not follow the leader , just little things like white paint and black trim instead of chrome or colour code the bumpers and mirrors ,you could still do white over sliver and the black trim just don’t do black paint with black wheels i don’t undersatnd that one , up to you your car ,this also can be about motors , NA,Forced, Nos Manual, auto anyway eaither way it will look good and go hard just thourght maybe a group three

Posts: 775Wow ready those chargers are still around i had one and i came to the conclusion that they were disigned really badly the man problem is the impaler wheel then the bearings , i would assume by the power level it’s on 7 psi as i got 260rwkw 350rwhp out of mine , if you want more psi the impaler wheel need changing to one the looks like a turbo not striaght vanes ,i uped mine to 12psi and went backwards so went to vortech what a differance chalk and cheese just my thourghts and some info

Posts: 775Hey heron sounds like it will be nice, you could do what lj has done I know it’s more money later but easier to engineer now , lj he went with l98 and whipple so you could do whipple later (and you may get that under the bonnet as lsa are about 45mm too high , I’m going down the lsa route in a vb-vh and have allowed 20k for the motor + th6060 gearbox thats including all what cara listed

Posts: 775Hi Gary just to pick your brain, I am putting the bigger rotors on the 9″ I’ve got and if you can think about when you did the hand brake change over would it be easy to convert the vt stuff on to the 9″ and can the backing plate etc come off without removing hub
Cheers Frazer

Posts: 775Hey Gary just thinking outside the box could you cover each box bring pipes out of each front and modify a otr
then you would have it filtered , you could incorporate it in to bonnet so maybe the covers and otr lift up with bonnet ,, just an idea looking good any way
