Posts: 775New setup with change alot of its characteristics. You want stall speed about 2-500 RPM above Peak Torque, otherwise your leaving room on the table for improvement
Bit late to the party but was is with a stall I have always had manuals so have no idea how they work and way you need them

Posts: 775Yea i run the Willwoods too, beautiful brakes. Pity you cant keep them both
I look at it this way I can only drive one and I don’t have any feelings for the green one sounds weird I know but I have strong feelings about the vh maybe it’s that my first commodore was a 83 burgundy vh six 23 years ago
plus there are still things I would not be happy with even if they were fixed ,and now some one else get to enjoy a classic that looks and feels way better than when I brought it

Posts: 775photo will suffice at the moment, as far as i can tell the fan motors are smaller in size, and the small fan on the V6 type has the wiring running the opposite direction around the motor as the V8 setup reason being is……..i picked up a set tonight off gumtree suppose to be off a VZ SS and i even questioned it while i was there as the fan motors looked like v6 ones ive seen but was told they were v8 ones. Had a quick look over them, seemed ok, no broken mounting points etc, Grabbed them anyway, when i got home pulled them out the boot and noticed the edge of them says VZ V6 down the side edge………….
Gutted ,was it dark if not just use that as an excuse

Cava I found the vh with a six in it a guy owned it for 27 years and still driving at 92,, so a change of plan and I had not gone to far with vb also not wreaking a factory numbered 5ltr sle but it’s 100 time better condition now than when I got it it’s had six birthdays and Christmas all at once , should get good money for vb

Posts: 775wow that’s shocking at least you stripped it now, are these built in oz or usa ..hey cava are the lsa’s like yours built in the same place yours is a crate motor as-well I assume
The lsx is a crate engine where as the LSA is a factory engine. So the build quality should be very different. I hope. Id also totally flush all the oil system, good call on that. I’d call up the supplier, you might of owned it 3 years but I’m sure you would be able to prove how long it’s actaully been running and how many km’s it’s done. Fair to say under 5000km?
So Cava do you know where both engines get built I just assumed same place

Posts: 775Yip you can only try not sure on warranty but it’s either km’s once started or time from delivery but it’s proving it as well be hard I think
11.5 that’s not bad so 12.5 for the lsa is good then

Posts: 775Hey Gary can you post up the bearing pic I’m not on face book , I know you want to attempt the build yourself but a bit of money if you get it wrong , I got my last engine built by a brilliant engine builder and even then I was nervous as hell on the first start up and dyno so would be freaking out if I had built it, but hey good on you for giving it a go sounds like you have some good people around if you get stuck
