Posts: 775Yea that’s exactly what I was thinking. I mean it was a pretty major rebuild and over such a long time. I just wouldn’t want to have missed something dumb.
I don’t know Gary you pretty ocd on the thing I recon you make a list while looking at the car then just do it from the list, I never have

Posts: 775Dunno. I’ll look at where to position it and see if I can get a decent spot probably going to get my brake calipers rebuilt. Local shop wants 110 bucks per caliper
do the callipers yourself its easy cost 20 buck for the kit and that’s for a pair , can you go to a map sensor and ditch the maf on the factory ecu
i need to run a maf for engineering, not even sure if it will be turned off when it’s tuned but it has to be there
yip forgot that engineering thing

Posts: 775Yea I agree IJ, the good thing is to have a bit of fun, I actually don’t have to do much. If I take someone for a drive I just cruise along quietly, find a wide spot, stab the throttle and all hell breaks loose. Then I back off and they giggle like a school kid. Will be cool to take somewhere like The Bend, and open it up a bit more at some stage.
giggle like a school kid I’ve been there and I’ve been driving

Posts: 775I see you having issues with header clearance. I cant quite see from pics but are you using a VL, VN, VP rack or a VH rack. The later steering racks are a lot smaller profile giving more room. Later racks wont bolt up to early K frame. Need to fit later K frame as well. You may already know this and have done it, but just in case.
Cheers Dave

Posts: 775Yeah none of the crate motors come with that. Which is stupid as they need it to run the blower drive You only have to change the bracket if you boost it 25% or above. Other then that you can just keep the factory bracket. If I would of known I would have just suggested buying the offset bracket straight up to save some $$$ You would of had change from $400
Hey Cava having an issue with alternators and brackets can you tell me what you have photo’s would be good to, I have a bracket from Holden ls3 that bolts to all three holes in the block centre of the two main holes that the alternator sits in is 139mm then got an ls3 alternator and does not fit bracket or block, alternator has centres of 155 , have been told the ls3 only has two bolts that bolt to the block, but wrong offset for lsa
any help would be appreciated

Posts: 775Its alive First drive just then. Holy crap it was insane before, its now a mixture of angry and insane, just awesome. Bit of work to do on the street tune, she pops and farts like the morning under an Indian curry night, but actually apart from that quite docile and driveable at normal speeds. Relatively quiet too. But holy shit hit he throttle and its next dimension. Lights it up instantly, but also tracks quite straight.
fantastic Gary awesome fun
