Posts: 535I wish I had all the gear you have, life would be a breeze.
It’s hard to justify spending $1000’s on a welder for the odd job although but my kids are almost grown up and starting to head out on there own and the mortgage is almost gone so I’ll look at setting up a small workshop in the garage in the next few years me thinks.

Posts: 535That’s fairly much why I do most of my own work too. Got a bum deal very early on playing with cars. Thankfully it was a lesson learnt early and not to costly if not frustrating.

Posts: 535I was thinking the same about the filter, after watching the Engine Master episode where they test air filters a bigger filter may unleash the last few HP.

Here in NZ it’s probably easier to just import an American LH drive vehicle.

Posts: 535They would sell like hot cakes if they were priced correctly but when you are paying a huge premium for what is in reality a entry level model I think they will struggle.
Ford got it right with the Mustang in that respect, clearly they understand the V8 bogan better than GM/Holden does these days.

Posts: 535Yep, it’s gonna be $30K more than the Mustang most likely. Luxury car price for entry level spec.
I’ll wait till the next major upgrade when they will come in both LH & RD drive from the factory.

Posts: 535Very nicely done. I bet there were a few hours work in that.
What are you doing to adapt the 350 output shaft to transfer case input shaft?

Posts: 535Depending on what PCM you run you might not need the 2nd set of O2 sensors behind the cats.
It is possible that the tuner will also be able to turn em off (again depending on the PCM) as I believe high flow cats can stuff up the readings and trigger a engine check light in the later model cars with the 2nd set of O2 sensors fitted and non standard cats/exhaust systems. Not that I’m recommending defeating a anti-pollution device

Posts: 535Yes, later model run the 2 sets of O2 sensors to monitor catalytic converter performance.
Be interesting to see that comparison. I guess if you’re letting the vehicle cool down between runs it wouldn’t be much of an issue.

Posts: 535Are you planning on adding a coolant expansion tank for the cooler IC system like the guys in the US are doing to increase the total coolant volume?
ive got a 15L ice tank in the boot. IMO the IC system is as good as it gets without going into the interchiller sort of setups. I done a fair wack of reasarch on what the yanks are using. This is pretty much on part with some of the fastest. Not to sound like a wanker lol
Yeah the ice tank in the boot is the best option
Most of the yanks are fitting a tank in the engine bay, it increases coolant volume but is still subject to engine bay heat.
