Fairly much.  If you look at top fuel dragsters They have 1″ hoses coming out of the rocker covers running to big tanks and are there to catch any shit that comes out.

A catch can, part of a closed breather system is more of an oil/air seperator.

It’s almost like they are trying to do a 2 in 1 making a catch can and puke can in one even though in reality they do different jobs.

Did you pre-heat those castings at all before welding?

No idea, might be easier to just use a bead tool?  I’m  assuming you’re trying to make sure the fuel line doesn’t slip off?

Yea won’t lie, I am not a massive fan of the design job Holden did on the IRS on these cars. Massive camber change built into the design, plus the weight of the subframe, that is also prone to cracking. I would much prefer live on mine unless of course, you have the fab skills of IJ and design your own set up from scratch

Holden designed nothing, they borrowed it but removed the toe link arms it came with which only re-appeared when HSV re-introduced them for the GTS to improve traction and became standard during the VX.

I’m not sure about the cracking issues, seems to be more prevalent in the early version, it’s not something you hear about in the later models (not that I’m aware off anyway).

I’ve driven both and the IRS has it’s advantages but if you are interested in drag racing than semi-trailing is definitely the way to go.

Seems stupid to go solid roller and not make use of it’s benefits.

I vote Stihl too but the Husqvarna ones don’t look to bad either.

It made plenty of power too in stock form but that doesn’t stop us from modifying it to make more.

BTW, what is more important, pressure of flow?

Well not a must but every time the flow does a 90° turn there is a certain amount of flow/pressure loss (LJ will know the numbers) so to achieve a certain pressure/flow at the end of the system you need more pressure/flow to compensate at the start of the system to compensate for that loss.

Not that oil pressure is a problem on these engines but I would have used a die grinder and made some nice radius’s on the oil galleries in the block and oil pump fittings.  Every little bit helps.

Got a nice day off today, awesome weather here, so got stuck into the valley cover, came up a treat. Happy with that

That’s come up mint.  I suggest it spends a bit of time in the wifes oven to help seal/harden the paint :)

Unfortunately that doesn’t just apply to LSx engines, fairly much everything these days need to be checked.
