Posts: 535A big solid cam would be nice but would need a decent engine to support it and I’d be much more inclined to go to a hydraulic roller in a 355.
Had a look those Alt/PS brackets from Lowe Fabrications, very nice but not cheap :(

Posts: 535Yep, I think the alternator/bracket will get that treatment first.

First thing after it’s going is to get rid of that horrible water pump pulley. Something alloy should do the job.

Posts: 535There is a much more up to date data on the PCMHack forum.
You’ll note the police versions use a different ecu/pcm and all have RFI mentioned, basically put extra electrical shielding because of all the extra electrical stuff in police cars. Ahh, they also increased the idle to suit the heavy duty alternator but that is about it.

Posts: 535I’d think you’d be a bit heavier than a VP with the Senator been a luxo barge really plus he would have an alloy block where yours is iron on the plus side the Glide should be a bit lighter than your original trans.
I think the kerb weight of a VR Senator is about 1600kg.

Posts: 535Don’t worry, it is an option and the drivers side line is long enough to do it, it was the heater hoses taking up all the room that was the issue which is no more…….

Posts: 535OK, I think this looks better. There is enough room to sneak 1 hose under the PS pump, instead of taking the feed for the heater at the thermostat housing I could take it from the front of the cross-over passage where there is currently a plug. 2nd hose will still go across the top of the timing cover.
Good, thought it might at least give you an idea. Pity to spoil the look of yours with the hoses over the top.
Damn right

Posts: 535Hey, that is not a bad idea at all I’m going to try routing em similar to yours, just need to see if they can be worked around the PS pump.
Yes, on the factory intake the heater hoses run up sides of the intake manifold but they are all hidden by the covers.

Posts: 535OK, doing a quick bit of research I see the AU thermo’s have a low and high speed circuit so you’ll need to figure out which is which and wire up the high speed circuit.

What wire size are you using?
Can you measure current draw/voltage when running?

Posts: 535Thinking I might bend the fuel hard lines 90° so they face along the fire wall, then the trans dip stick tube can be bent toward the brake booster and wont foul on anything.
Thoughts?
