Posts: 41Wheels have been restored and painted Hi Ho Silver which is the same paint code as the HSV factory wheel colour “Senator Grey”
Engine cover where 2k painted silver with clear and bananas painted by spray can Aluminium: in high temp + clear .. but will redo later to match.. looks good enough for now.
Installed another MP3/USB stereo.. but will need to add another power antenna switch as this stereo only had amp trigger out?.. so the ant stays up all the time which looks shit.
The car is for sale on car sales as I need money for a pool and I have four cars.
But if not just as happy to keep in storage as its mint!.
Will change the exhaust next with straight through muffler and rear hot dog and twin tips as I want it to some like my SS.
I have started taking off each door trim and re glueing the trim and replacing the door lock nibs with NOS orange lock tabs. Need to find a power loss as the mirror and cruz do not work so will work that out soon.

Posts: 41There were parts , screws/clips every where in boxes and on shelves so I got motivated on the weekend a put the interior back together.
The next mission is painting the bananas and rocker covers, painting my black ash trays, polishing some more rims, servicing the auto and changing the shift solenoids. Then blue slip and new plates.
I had the guards rolled as I intend to put Silver FR1 Simmons on pretty soon for fun and change the exhaust as soon as its rego.
The interior was stream clean and the used water that I sucked out of the trim was black. The cars smell nice now.
There is a little bit of glue/silcon on the rear trim which I cannot remove from the previous owner.. so in time I may re trim as I have 3m of spare martial .. but not worried.
The centre stereo surround and centre console had leather cleaner and sealer to remove the dirt.
After a clay bar and polish the car will be very nice!!

Posts: 41Hi Paul, Still want a SV5000 and yes this was suppose to be a daily so I will have to use it or sell it as my wife said I cannot have four cars.
Actually I did win an argument the other day… my wife said I could have as many cars as I want.. just not stored here at our house… so I might find a friend with a large shed and store the cars I do up unrego there
I really need a shed like your one..lol

Posts: 41Fabulous, awesome to see mate. Subscribed Where did you score the rear ash trays from, I was only able to source a pair that were black?
Mine are black too..lol
I though they were going to be grey like the ebay pic I posted… but I have expensive grey paint I bought from the trimmer so I will paint the surround and tray like new.

Posts: 41Bit of an update. Everytime I look at something off this car it needs fixing..lol
Repair rust bubble on rear window cause they didn’t take the screen out when they painted it.
Rebuild trip computer.. then got the rest of the dash rebuilt as fuel gauge was on its way out. Thanks Daniel commodore clusters.
NOS climate control version of demister switch.
New ebay indicator + cruz control buttons.
Interior light circuit had dead short so wiring from fuse box to boot replaced.
Roof cardboard shell was bent so wet it and glue to back into sharp as best I could and re covered it. (should have use the stronger Velcro I bought as new roof lining still has a bit of a bow in it.
New power antenna from ebay (says it fit) but had to make it work..lol
NOS under bonnet lining made the engine bay look better. Clean cutting polish over spray through out engine bay as best I could.
Sourced 2 x rear quarter plastic trim with all clips and roof lining trim piece with all clips.
Bought mint leather wheel and mint second hand air bag + clock spring to put back in the air bag system which and been removed.
Put new senator decals on today and just notice the rear bar is warped..lol
NOS interior light cover and I have NOS 2 x rear interior lights coming.
Mint rear ashtrays and NOS door lock tabs. Car needs new bigger cranking battery and putting high torque starter in so its reliable.
Put new ebay gas struts boot and bonnet on.
Bough 3m of NOS senator seat trim and may get the front seat re bolstered and insert changed.
Put NOS front HSV badge as you dont paint a car and then put crack faded badges back on..lol
Steam cleaning interior next and service engine and gearbox.
My new plates are waiting at the RTA (217 HSV)
Guards are getting rolled next weekend as a safety thing so I can some Simmons 20’s on for fun.

Posts: 41Well it feels a bit like Xmas again! Received pretty much the last of the trans bits today to be able to start the rebuild. For the record so far I have the following plus a couple of other bits and pieces · Raybestos 3-4 Clutch MAXPAC · Transgo .500 Boost Valve · Transparts 4L60E Transmission Rebuild kit 97-03 Power Pack · 4L60E Billet 1-2 Super Servo Piston · 4L60E Super Servo 4th Apply Piston · Sonnax Strengthened Input Drum Assy · “The Beast” Sun Gear Shell · Transgo Shift Kit Stage 2 Also got the 2 front wheel back from Extensive Rim Services who refurbished them for me. All i can say is they look awesome, perfect in fact. below is before and after Also have managed to do a deal with a 3D scanning company to do the point cloud for me, counter swapped some work for it, only cost is transporting the rim to Melbourne and back.
Hey Gary, Could you please tell me the name of the wheel colour or code? I would also like to get my rims re sprayed. Also what code/brand rear spring did you use. I like the way the car sits. Dont think I will be doing coil overs for front but If I know what the rears are I could work out a front size.

Posts: 41Fronts are KHFL47HD Rears are KHRL46SL Are filthy as I have never cleaned them and have been in cupboard for years $50 plus what ever postage is, if it’s just the springs I carnt see it been over $30 I can take he front springs of the shocks unless you want them to but you would have to pay postage witch would be a little extra and they are average, would be better of getting new shocks If you look on my manta thread the first pic is the ride height with these springs but the rear is probley 10-15mm lower as they use to have air bags in them
Sorry mate I didnt get you reply PM?
Would they be lower than this?
