Most people end up bending their own m/cyl bracket or try modding stocker.
Probably better off buying fibreglass bonnet with 4″ reverse cowl already done $700-$800 but can’t use bonnet struts or they bow…bonnets look better without scoop if car doesn’t need them.
February 11, 2018 at 11:25 pm #25904Think that was their 1 7/8 pipes lsa kit with chassis drop kit & trans member for a customer..roughly 4k
Most end up on blown ls cars…those nice engine bays usually their handiwork too.
Really nice work, often booked out for months in advance grr

January 12, 2018 at 3:16 pm #25668Some dudes cut or dent top cover of shocker…most just go rear drums…can also go later ford calipers apparently they can be made to fit down low to clear rail.
Lot of stuffing around for fat-ass sidewalls aint it lol
Looks like making good progress dude.
December 28, 2017 at 2:43 pm #25579Think it might be a promatics already…I’ll have to check.
Maybe gave you the 3k stally just in case with a cam & pulley kit the extra torque will raise it higher lol
Have you seen any with ls9 tops put on them or too exxy compared to caddy top conversion?
December 28, 2017 at 2:39 pm #25578Like the calais steering wheel better tbh! Rarely see them on cars now.
Could knock up your own mace-style airbox or look for vt 5 litre airbox if want it to look more factory neat’ish.
vr series 2 v8 top will do the trick also….look neat with curved top although small/restrictive for a 5.7,some dude was selling them $40 new on ebay awhile back…make sure it’s not hsv top but stocker version that clips to v6 lower section.
December 27, 2017 at 11:36 pm #25574Nice!!!
Was thinking of sending my trimatic down to him next year, seems to offer great work for the coin.
Thought you’d be wanting 3500rpm stally like most lsa conversions seem to have?
December 19, 2017 at 1:25 pm #25468Most take fuse rail out of fusebox to mount them on L brackets so they poke through inner dash part that’s on left side of glove box when it’s opened…just remember never cut slot on right side or dash does 360 when opened lol
Haven’t touched nor had access to ghetto vk in so long can barely remember how I hid it all.
December 19, 2017 at 1:16 pm #25467Have you got enough tyre clearance to tank with big wheels?
Will look good with the big wheels & fuel tank out back…reckon ot’s a better look than twin pipes on commo’s
December 19, 2017 at 1:11 pm #25466Too hot up here also to go in garage lol.
Had a look at those fibreglass doors on fb by looks of them you could chop up your existing metal doors to weigh nearly the same…looks like windows get screwed into frame on their doors
They’d be ok for rear doors but not being able to wind windows down would peeve me badly on a cruise.
Liking the fine tolerances your keeping!
December 18, 2017 at 3:28 pm #25456Bugger,it would be much less weight saving for a vp ute unless they do tailgates instead of 2 rear soors lol.
Never noticed could get decent aftermarket parts for th350…finding good case is hard enough.
Usually just see th400 or p/glide parts advertised
December 18, 2017 at 3:15 pm #25454Engine harness & starter motor/batter power cable harness are separate plugs off main harness with fusebox.
Alot easier to re-route & hide under dash without factory heaterbox etc otherwise it mostly goes on between dash & factor heaterbox which means repeatedly fitting & removing dash parts.
You’ll laugh when you realise you spent countless hours to make it neat, hidden & practical yet nobody ever notices.
December 18, 2017 at 3:03 pm #25453Tempted to go fibreglass bonnet too but looks like they bow if keep bonnet struts although 2.5k for 100kgs is steep lol
What are the doors like in weight saving & can they still take winder mechanism?
December 18, 2017 at 2:42 pm #25450Nice!
Try it with larger air filter or without it to see if it gains that last 10th you want in top end..a scoop with isolation plate would probably get it there but would ruin how it looks now.
Cool to see it driven & raced.Well done mate.
October 17, 2017 at 11:36 am #24935I’d rather go simple cable with th400 box or atleast those adaptors that allow you to connect cable & speedo sensor.
Can also go cheaper method of buying obd2 display screen off ebay although jaycar gps speedo I had barely lasted a year & had to turn it on/off from switch
October 16, 2017 at 7:53 pm #24927If ls ecu & vn speedo are same signal then adjusting that way with gps phone app to check speed will be fine.
Assumed signal would be different the way vn-p speedo works.
October 16, 2017 at 7:50 pm #24926I’ve been thinking of fitting vn speedo into vk cluster/speedo face then use either adjustable potentiometer from jaycar or another adjustable speedo corrector like what I got off pcmhacking that allows for the different signals & high/low increment adjustments for speedo.
Some cool threads about how to do it..save a ton of coin doing it yourself although will test your patience to max.
**Must admit cheated with temporary solution of jaycar gps speedo plugged into lighter(mofo recently died)
October 16, 2017 at 1:03 pm #24914For the money bought 2 speedo correctors off ‘festy’ from for sale section of pcmhacking.net recently
$80-$90 with ton of adjustability.
Tried to link it but didn’t work, can read thread on product of it’s different uses.

October 14, 2017 at 8:30 pm #24878Don’t think it’s tunnel issue moreso guessing they’re not suitable for starter conversion so it would be like doing early days m6 ls conversion where they moved rack over & custom extractor..good excuse for 1 7/8.
I reckon it will be wicked setup especially after seeing workmate’s vf clubbie with cam + harrop 2300 still using stock auto.
Thought we could only go 6 litre legally with early commodores?
But seeing a few ls3 convesions getting built lately & an engineered lj torrie with an ls2 has me confused.
October 13, 2017 at 9:09 pm #24860Cool!!!
Been waiting to see 6l80 fitted to an early girl lol.
October 13, 2017 at 3:26 pm #24854Looks like it’s really starting to come together now dude.
Will go harder next time at drags.
