Yeah goes over the limit. Of cubic inches to weight for boosted application.

1 of many stupid laws that should be abolished.

    <p style=”text-align: left;”>With 3.55 a rear, a gear vendors probable isn’t really needed. Not like it’s 4.11 and cruising @100 on 3700</p>

I only asked because if it maybe is on the cards than a more optimal gear set like 4.11 could be used.

I will say though as the car sits now + the 700hp goal, you’d still have sand bag it if you wanted to make a few runs.

Have you thought about bolting a Gear Vendors unit behind the glide at any stage?

Yeah they’re not a 100%, but they give you a pretty fair idea. I use the calculators on wallaceracing.com, very helpful.

With the 3.55 gears and a 275/50 15 (26.4in) it’ll cross the line somewhere around 6100rpm and for very inch in diameter more it’ll drop 200rpm.

Not sure, wouldn’t the extra traction be more use? I have no idea what sort of mph it may run. I would be happier with it not quite pulling 7k at the line than hitting the limiter just before?

How much hp are you hoping to make and what does the car weigh (in pounds). Should be able to roughly calculate mph and from that can work out the best tyre diameter/rear gear combo.

Fuck u pricks costing me money. Gunna have to start a go fund me account. No x bar on cage lol. Wanna keep the back seat. Granted it’s only registered as a 2 seater now.

We maybe spending your money now, but we’re saving you money later down the line.

Yeah caddy too and kframe spacers. Don’t think they are a sick bad as they make out.

No reverse cowl for this one.

Cav..stitch-weld toparm plate to floorpan from underneath then put decent sized plate inside car on top…can stitch it but not necessary. Then back from underneath drill say 4 holes, use high tensile nuts & bolts then tighten job completed, much larger surface area for mount to pull on.

You could even go one step further and have 2 extra bars in a cross going between there and the mid hoop on the cage. Problem is bye bye back seat and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to do that.

Stops the diff from rolling on launch and hard acceleration. So maintaing the geometry, pinion angle etc to maximise traction.

You’re thinking of traction bars for leaf springs Cava.

This article is a good read about stabilizer bars aka anti-roll bar aka swaybar.

Factory Commodore disc brakes most likely wont clear the rail with how wide the overall brake assembly is. There are plenty of aftermarket kits out there to replace drum assembly that have a low overall profile.

This is the kit I’ll be using.

I should point out that it’s to suit Ford (new) large housing ends

I’m just asking because I’ve got 15×10 with 4.5bs Welds that I’m fitting to my VS ute and I’ve found a wilwood kit that should fit with in that back space.

396 with overbore gets you 402ci in standard block. 365-370ci is the sweet spot.

Can’t say i’ve ever come across a 402ci Holden with factory block, can be done but would require a 60 thou over bore. Not greatest starting point for a strong bottom end i would think. Agree 370ci would be the best balance of torque vs revs.Shame C.O.M.E. or Scat don’t make them.

Crankshaft Rebuilders/Auscrank are pretty much the only company (in Australia) that can make you a Holden crank to spec. Sadly my builder and I have had much luck with them, but they are supposed to be currently grinding up an crank for me.

PS I accidentally reported the post.

Should make life easier at the strip with manual 400. I’ll try putting up a thread next year when I start the chassis work or earlier if I get some engine progress pictures :good:

Shifnoid air/c02 shifter setup so I don’t have to take my hands off the wheel or throttle (hand controlled throttle and brake) to shift when drag racing.

So was a bit of a fluke but i took my time putting drop down in, in what was what i thought perfect position. So with shifter in and the auto facias slightly adjusted its a perfect fit. I also am thinking of mounting nuts under the drop down box so dont have to piss about trying to get nuts n bolts done up from underneath car. As you can see because i cut the reverse lock out lever n welded in line with shifter its a tad short, who uses these shifters been shorter will it be annoying. No it does not hit facia not even close just bit further down to flick up I will also be putting black slide strip back in so u dont see white edge of facia slide strip will have slot for reverse lock out with a brush seal.

I want to fit a Pro Ratchet to my VS like this, but don’t think it’ll work with a pneumatic cylinder fitted to the shifter
