Not much has been happening with this.
I’ve had to store it in the shed for over a year now as i couldn’t justify the registration costs with reduced income (covid) and a new baby. I still get it out and start it up every month or 2.

August 5, 2019 at 11:11 am #29366Not much been happening with the Commodore, just the odd cruise here and there.
I took it to a local Saturday night meet last weekend and I was chatting to a bloke and briefly mentioned i wouldn’t mind a set of VS Clubsport wheels.
“I think i have a set in my shed, they’re the 3 spoke ones aren’t they?” he said.
So arranged to meet him the next day, wheels were right ones, low ball accepted, and off I went happily.
Clean up has began.

I reckon paint it white or silver, your choice though.
May 3, 2019 at 9:12 am #28529The car started to emit quite a strong fuel smell, so after some investigation, it appears all the fuel vapour hoses at the tank had all deteriorated.
So i dropped the tank out, replaced all hoses and also gave it a fresh lick of gloss black and silver tank straps.
May 2, 2019 at 3:26 pm #28526So coming up on two years of ownership of this Commodore.
Have done a few trips away and added several thousand kms to it all trouble free.
There has been a slight oil leak that ive been meaning to rectify, and from what i could see, it looked like an inlet manifold gasket leak.
Since i have no mechanical skills or training in this department, why not just have ago myself.
Off with its head (inlet manifold)
The gasket was leaking, so i did replace that.
Not all was smooth sailing, i did snap a inlet manifold bolt off in the head which was a prick to remove.
It also appears the water pump was on its last legs (a light tap with the screw driver resulted in a hole)
Whilst I was in there i replaced all heater hoses, radiator hoses, heater tap, water pump plug leads and spark plugs.
I also gave it all a good clean whilst it was apart.
It all went back together and has been working propery with no leaks, a satisfying success.
