yeah if i put a cooler for the power steering it will have to external, the inlet/outlet barb on the trans lines have been cut to clear my thermo fan

i have noticed that a few brand like Derale do stagered ount brackets or there coolers like this:

    http://derale.com/products/fluid-coolers/accessories/series-10000-stacked-plate-accessories/stacked-plate-cooler-easy-fit-mounting-brackets-dual-748-detail

that way i can run a larger Cooler for the trans a a smaller one for the power steering provided i can fit them both

does anyone know what size i need to run for a trans

99% this is going to be a road car,  i wont take it on a track, and i dont even think we have drag meets here in SA anymore (again)

my biggest concern it, overheating my new trans, which has a 3000rpm stall, i dont think i’ll have much of an issue with the power steering overheating at this stage

well i  checked the linkages but they seemed ok, so i disconnected the boot release actuator, and hooked the battery up, so i could check if the boot release on the remote without it going off.  i could hear the BCM activating, each time the remote button was pressed.

so then i pulled the glovebox switch out and when i did that, it too started working but the minute i pushed it back in the hole in the glove box it fits into it stopped again, so i pulled the dash apart and replaced the 2 wires for the glovebox switch, and put it down to a broken wire.

looks like it might be a common issue as the spare harness i have here for parts, had the insulation on both wire split in approximately the same spot.

    but its all working now

yeah problem i had there is the vs was all but a rolling shell for the last 12 month, hasnt had a running motor in it since the start of last year

a mate of mine as a similar device for his bike and HR, as he kept getting flat batteries in both i’ll probably get something like that when i have the VS running……one day

Humm, not really although I do remember when I put mine back together it was actually quite tricky to get the linkages all hooked up correctly. I wonder if you just have them slightly wrong?

well i did fit a manual cable release from a VS executive(as mine runs a Calais rear harness), but i have disconnected the boot lock to allow it to fit

    I was thinking wiring/ sticky relay issue/bcm issue .

well, tomorrow i’ll double check the above first, then i’ll start going through wiring, I quickly double checked it today when i do press the boot release button on the remote, im sure i can hear either the BCM or a Relay Activate each time i press it but when i press the button in the glovebox nothing was working, so i might swap it over for a spare that i have and i’ll check the wiring to the boot for a broken or damaged wire.

    im sure its something minor

i’ve got Optima yellow tops in both my cars,  the one in my VY is about 5 years old and the car is used Daily.

the one in my VS is about 4 years old, i have a feeling that one on it’s way out though, probably as the car has been parked up for a while

The woodgrain would be aftermarket as its not listed on the HBD option list i have…..

i know a guy that has the equipment to get it made, use to do woodgrain and carbon fibre packages and sell them on ebay

i’ve got 2, i have a Alloy Kincrome 1000kg one, but the main one i use is my Kincrome 3500kg one (Steel type),  i actually find it fits better under a lowered car, reaches under most jackpoints on the car, where i find the alloy one can be a bit short to get to, normally just out of reach.

cant remember what they cost, were a kincrome dealer at work, so normally get a very good price on them. i’d defiantly buy the 3500kg one again if i could, but now its discontinued.

1000kg alloy one i’ve only had for about a year so haven’t used it much, as the VS has been off the road before i bought it.

will get used a few times in the next month or too as start getting the VS back together.

my VS doesnt run an airbag so i modified the clockspring from a VS with an Airbag and wired in a VX set of steering wheel control and a ran a PAC audio Adaptor to my Kenwood H/Unit

All Button work apart from the mode Button, the Module doesnt pick that up, but after not have any of them work for years, i can live with that

maybe use a black VY ute one, probally easier to mount too

if your using VS ones i find they always stuff up, particular the type fitted to the rear doors, which is the same type they use on vn-vs utes for the fronts but are instead mounted in the console, i find the springs in the buttons go, my switches were new and s/hand over the years and i’ve had a few problems where it wont work, and i remove the door trim and it starts working again, put the trim on again and it again and its good for a while.

only ever the rears and particularly the RHR
