the problem with the VR/VS radio surround, it doesn’t have the cutouts for the antenna switches- see the photo above that I took from the back of the spare console in the shed

The VS Statesman Console in my shed looks like this but doesn’t have the individual switch blanks, could of sworn it had them, might be better off getting a VQ one like the ebay link ive listed

It’s pretty much a ghetto harrop cover for about $100 complete. I have to modify the n-tank fuel pump carrier outlet to clear the diff mount, but that’s OK as I was going to braze on a dash 6 steel fitting anyway. Although I do have some speedflow 5/16″ to -6 adaptors on hand – anyone have some tips for these? Might try and work on the k-frame a bit more tonight.

ive currently got some of those fittings on ebay

yeah im in the same boat. my engine is a fair step bit different from original though so im going to speak to the tuner soon and see what he suggests, will probably will end up getting it towed down to him in st marys and get a basic tune done to run everything in then take it back there after a few months once its all run in, get proper tune done

but i’ll see what he says first

passenger side on the 1 3/4 competition set ran parallel to the chassis rail, with no clearance with the gasket off.

normal  1 5/8 set aren’t quite as bad. but has clearance with gasket on, so should be ok

my towbar runs a brace on the inside of the boot floor, from the very back of the car to the bump in the floor where the diff is. approx 250-300mm wide, left the brace there to keep the holes in the floor sealed, looks quite tidy

didn’t really want to weld them up with the fuel tank underneath it

maybe just get some mudguard washers, put 1 each side of the bolt and short zinc bolts with nylocs and bolt them up and paint everything black

i’d doubt the car would need a tune for  just the 70mm throttle, but if its got  new cam might as well tune the whole lot properly

hope you trial fitted the extractors before ceramic coating, them i had heaps of issues with the the one’s i was fitting to my 355, bought 3 sets in the end, originally had 1 5/8 primary type on it when it was a 5lt, so when i was planning to fit the new engine, i sold them off and bought a set with 1 3/4 primary’s.

First set was competition type with 1 3/4 primary’s didn’t trial fit them first before having them ceramic coated, and they ended up hitting my sump on the driver side, so bought the same type and before ceramic coated modded them to suit the sump, but then the passenger side hit the chassis rail, i rung up pacemaker asking why they are hitting. they made a heap of excuses, i had enough and ended up buying the same type as i originally had on my vs when it was a 5lt

as for the towbar i left the bracing inside my boot, so there are no holes, but mines live axle and the setup looks alot different to what yours is in the photo above

i’ve actually got a spare set of the Aeroflow transmission fittings. in the shed if your interested, i bought 2 packs didn’t realize they came in packs of 2, so there brand new and unused

and yes they come VERY close to the Trans Tunnel

if anyone needs aeroflow fittings, i have heaps left over from my VS, will get a list up in the next day or 2, there’s an assortment of bents, hardline adapters, reducers etc. all fittings are Black, I’ll post the list in the proper for sale section
