It was flickering a bit between those numbers mainly, not less than 40 psi though. but I would be guessing that’s the idle, as it’s not tuned properly

Well found a pressure gauge in the shed, so adapted the gauge to fit the spot where the Autometer sender was

fired if up car was idling about 1500rpm at the time if was between 40-50psi, and goes up more with move revs

Yeah primed the system, even double checked that by repacking it again.

Gauge is an electric Autometer Nexus

I’ll get another gauge tomorrow, and screw it straight into the pump

hopefully haven’t done any damaged, had it running for 10-15 minutes

Ok, got it running, the car does Have oil pressure, as we can See oil in the heads while running

Autometer gauge is reading sometimes and other times is dead, factory oil pressure light is working as it should. Oil filter seal let go once but got fired up so changed the filter over

What temp does the water temp gauge  read at when the thermostat is suppose to open?

im trying to work out if mine has oil pressure

brand new engine so, pump is packed with vas, we then filled oil filter then the engine with run in oil, pulled the plugs out and put some oil down the inside of the piston, as a precaution and turned it over on the starter, with no plugs.

at first the Autometer oil pressure gauge i have went up to just under 60psi, but then we stopped to check for leaks when looked again it wouldn’t read at all.

i know the dash light comes up but am unsure it it turns off once it has built up pressure, or once the car runs runs

just a bit worried that it may not have pressure, And now that you mentioned it i looked up the tridon oil pressure switch specs (Normally Closed 2-6 PSI, Normally Open 2.5-9 PSI)

    got another question

will the VS dash cluster oil pressure light go out once the engine has been turned over or once the engine is running?

Yeah it’s way better to pull a price out of your arse then have to keep lowering it for weeks until it gets to something realistic and sells…

all i mean is after a year or 2 most prices are not the same,  a part that may be worth  $500 today, maybe worth $100-200  in a year or even go up beyond $500 if its getting harder to get. so maybe keep the post around say a year then they delete.

i always put what i actually want for it, if something has cost me so much i try to get what i can back for it. most of the time i slightly negotiable but generally i’ll check gumtree and ebay and other forums and get an idea of what something is worth then list it, ebay prices can be all over the place, and gumtree gets annoying with the lowball offers.

The only place i sell that’s normally dearer is when i sell on ebay as i will add in the cost of the ebay fees to list it.

Definitely easy to get side tracked, happened to me a few times while building mine.

I think it better to delete them, pricing is always up to whoever is selling it

items also go up and down in pricing, also depends on condition

thanks, that’s the exact reason i kept it the factory colour

    some more pics

first 2 are of the engine about a month or so ago, note the rocker covers were changed back to the unmodified factory type.

third photo is of the transmission drain plug.

last 2 photos were taken tonight, almost finished off fitting the thermo fan,  finished fitting the thermostat housing and both radiator hoses.
