I have a set of VN, VP, VR, VS and VT series 1 V8 Rocker covers
Had them tanked and -8 fittings welded to the breather outlets, and repainted
Were fitted to my 5lt, but engine hasn’t been run, changed my setup so no longer required. Has a few small scratch marks were they rubbed on the abs module, hard to notice once fitted- see photos

yeah im in the same boat. my engine is a fair step bit different from original though so im going to speak to the tuner soon and see what he suggests, will probably will end up getting it towed down to him in st marys and get a basic tune done to run everything in then take it back there after a few months once its all run in, get proper tune…[Read more]

passenger side on the 1 3/4 competition set ran parallel to the chassis rail, with no clearance with the gasket off.
normal 1 5/8 set aren’t quite as bad. but has clearance with gasket on, so should be ok

i’d doubt the car would need a tune for just the 70mm throttle, but if its got new cam might as well tune the whole lot properly

hope you trial fitted the extractors before ceramic coating, them i had heaps of issues with the the one’s i was fitting to my 355, bought 3 sets in the end, originally had 1 5/8 primary type on it when it was a 5lt, so when i was planning to fit the new engine, i sold them off and bought a set with 1 3/4 primary’s.

I Have a Box full of new Aeroflow Fittings that i didnt either use or i change my plans, there is only 1 marked as “Test fitted” which means it had been screwed in and has some thread sealer still on it, but not had oil/petrol etc thru it.

i’ve actually got a spare set of the Aeroflow transmission fittings. in the shed if your interested, i bought 2 packs didn’t realize they came in packs of 2, so there brand new and unused
and yes they come VERY close to the Trans Tunnel

yeah that’s what I liked about it, had to drop the coolant in my mates Vt last year, due to a faulty new radiator (slightly leaking) had to do it twice as the relplacement lasted about 3 weeks after that
I did spot a radiator drain plug with a ball valve and barb on it. So might go that way
