can anyone here confirm the diameter of a rear swaybar in a factory fitted VN V8 (fe2 or stock suspension), or if by chance the production code still happens to be on it?

Well today i went to U pull it, at Elizabeth, didnt find anything at there so went to Gilman, no cars at either had factory fitted Fe2 on the build plates, but on the last VS i looked at i managed to find a set of Rear Fe2 springs from a sedan, which still had there tags and were not cut, so i grabbed them for $30.00

theres only 1mm between the physical size- fe2 is 25mm, but a stock one from v6 is 26mm

just depends if there made from the same grade spring steel,

i’ll let you know about the springs, i’ll go for a drive Wednesday to u pull it, and take a set of verniers. try and sort out rear springs and front and rear swaybars

what did you want for them?

im just trying to work out what i want, there is actually 2 listings in that info above for VS’s with fe2

EG code (non SS) which is a linear coil

HT code (SS) which is variable

but both the VR info, and later VS info has no mention of the HT code, so dont know what holdens done there

im not sure on what my chance’s are of getting a 20mm rear swaybar from a VR/VS V8 with fe2 and live axle, most i would think are IRS, so i might be a bit of a search, might have to look at a few VN V8’s, they might be the same

i’ll have a look at a few wreckers this week sometime and see how i go

yeah very handy info took me a few years to to all of the supplement manuals

i forgot about the SS ute, so checked that one, an updated the info above, says the spring rates were different, swaybar was also a 27mm front swaybar, like SS, but the rear doesn’t mention anything about a different swaybar

ive got all the prodution codes and thickess they use from my workshop manuals

my main concern is the rear, it be nice to get a complete set though

VR/VS front swaybar opions were:

24mm-V6/V8 sedan/wagon with Country pack suspension (production option V5W) Swaybar ID Code “GB”
