You did well getting a 9″ pretty much ready to fit for that price mate, yeah those sand blasting cabinets are really handy only way to get rusty parts properly stripped back I reckon, coming along nicely mate
January 15, 2017 at 7:53 am #21424Awesome results mate gotta be happy with that, the massive drop in inlet temps from the water meth system is good to see too I’ve been thinking about trying that instead of an intercooler for a while now and seeing temp drops like that has pretty much got me sold, gotta love forced induction on the old holden makes em sound even meaner too.

January 9, 2017 at 8:00 am #21373That’s the way to do it mate, it’s coming along nicely
November 25, 2016 at 6:46 pm #20741This thing is gonna be a weapon man, that shifter looks mint too, in my opinion you can’t go wrong with most of the unimig gear I’ve used a few of their mig and tig welders and they’ve all been good machines and pretty easy to use, I’d recommend their tigs over anything from cig, another decent brand for the money is bossweld

November 6, 2016 at 8:04 am #20460Looks pretty sweet
October 25, 2016 at 11:29 am #20321I didn’t even think to look if he already had the strut tops, well yeah heavier front sway bar and a a bit more performance oriented wheel alignment or just to see if it helps maybe just a wheel alignment
October 25, 2016 at 5:15 am #20318Then if you want to stiffen it up a bit more get a whiteline or similar front sway bar and you’ll be surprised how much different it handles
October 25, 2016 at 5:13 am #20317You’ve already got the strut brace stiffening front end up a bit, how about a pair of adjustable strut tops/caster plates, I swear by them i still remember the first time I drove my sisters old vn s pac which had a set of these in it, felt like it was on rails. Ever since I figured out the strut tops were all it took I’ve had them in every commodore I’ve owned
October 13, 2016 at 5:14 am #20119Yeah go turbo holden mate you have most of the parts you need already and plenty of spares just in case
September 21, 2016 at 5:08 pm #19831that’s coming along very nicely mate looking good
September 20, 2016 at 11:44 am #19767that’s all I need mate, I just want something reliable, don’t need any more spark that’s what the ice ignition is for, I just don’t trust the old modules anymore
September 19, 2016 at 10:28 am #19736hoopstar if you’re not too busy mate I’ve been contemplating getting myself one of these modules, however if you can do the same thing for $70 I’m keen to give it a go, I was looking at buying a new one till I saw these ones on eBay, but I won’t waste my money if you can do the same thing cheeper
September 10, 2016 at 7:05 am #19543beautiful cars there mate anyone would be cheering to work on them, very nice, can’t wait to see the vk all finished and running that’s an awesome build mate, Holden all the way
September 7, 2016 at 4:23 am #19473looks the goods mate can’t wait to see it in the bay, not long now
August 23, 2016 at 8:33 pm #19247yeah I have to say it, that looks like normal nolathane to me, that thing is slammed, I will admit it looks tough but I’d hate to have to drive it too much like that, couldn’t be much fun
August 8, 2016 at 4:35 am #18916you might be fine with that setup then 05L mine was running pretty hard the poor old girl
August 7, 2016 at 7:08 am #18908forgot to mention the air con condenser was removed from my Calais to help keep it cool and it had a 4 core A.R.E radiator in it aswell
August 7, 2016 at 7:03 am #18907only problem with a taller intercooler is you cover more of the radiator and restrict the airflow through it aswell as it’s cooling capabilities, I had 76mm pwr cooler about the same size as what you’re running on yours and had all sorts of trouble keeping engine temps down, it was fine when cruising but in traffic it would get a bit warm, even the massive spal thermo fan on it couldn’t keep it cool, until I changed to a shorter 100mm thick intercooler which exposed more of the radiator to fresh air and made it run alot cooler mind you I was running 20psi so it had a fair bit of heat to cool aswell
July 27, 2016 at 5:04 am #18725if you use steel or stainless steel nutserts it shouldn’t be a problem mate, I wouldn’t trust aluminum ones on something like that, it looks sweet where it’s sitting though, much better than having it stick out of the centre console
