• Awesome to finally see it running and being enjoyed (albeit for a brief moment)

Glad to hear it’s nothing too hard to fix :)

Surely the pump is covered under warranty, it’s hardly done any work yet? How did you find the drivability with the glide? Did you get any freeway kms with it?

Do you wish you got a TR6060MG9……? Sorry mate, had to ask…[Read more]

  • I wonder if we could start a timeslip thread with a little more emphasis on the MPH rather than just the ET.

It would be interesting to compare some of the supposedly “quicker” cars against the MPH of the “slower” ones. Obviously whether you’re running low profile street rubber vs drag radials makes a huge difference to your ET, but it doesn’t…[Read more]

  • 11.9 isn’t ridiculous if it’s set up properly.

The general rule is: if you take 0.1s off your 60ft, you can take 0.15s off your ET.

drag radials could drop your 60ft by 0.2s – 0.3s (even more in high-powered applications), and that could be worth half a second down the other end.

The true measure of how fast/powerful a car is in the real world…[Read more]

  • Cam only running a high 11???? That’s surely not full weight on street tyres and std diff etc… I know it’s a stupid question but can you elaborate on “cam only”?

high 11s is a friggin quick time??

I’ve just got a Dus, full exhaust and 3.9s, and I just ran a 12.9 at 179km/h (pretty happy with the mph) at calder in the monaro exactly the way I…[Read more]

  • 2 tenths?? That’s alot?? I ran at calder without a filter, but admittedly i didn’t think it was worth that much. Has anyone done a dyno with/without the filter? Also at what stage of the build? I’m only pushing 245rwkw so i’d guess it wouldn’t make that big a difference, but higher power engines need more air, compounding the problem. This is…[Read more]

  • Is there evidence to support this??? I find it hard to beleive (though certainly not impossible…) and would it make a difference at the track when you would likely run the DUS without a filter anyways? Sorry for the hijack

  • Yeah they are a really nice car. My brother inlaw just bought a VFSS series 1 storm ute (idiot was too impatient I told him to wait a few more months for the 6.2), and it’s a really nice thing to drive. The interior craps all over anything holden has released in the past. You’ll love it :)

  • when you say NEW VF SSV, do you mean brand new LS3 variant??? if so PICS NOW :D

  • Dan811 replied to the topic VR v2.0 in the forum VN – VP – VR – VS 9 years ago

Harrop offer a warranty on the DRIVELINE, not the entire car. If something goes wrong with your power windows, harrop aren’t going to be the ones fixing it.

Vehicle manufacturers don’t have to comply with COP because the regulations governing safety requirements and equipment mean they are the ones responsible for making the car safe,…[Read more]

  • If doing enormous burnouts and going to the strip is your thing, then fair enough, at the end of the day you’re building a car for a purpose and everything is a compromise.

But for just about everything else?…. Surely a good manual seems alluring…

  • I’ve looked into a similar thing, and whilst it sounds like an awesome deal, i’m led to beleive a TR6060(MG9 or not) won’t easily fit into a vt-vz trans tunnel? I don’t know exactly what modification is required, but at least a T56 is a bolt-straight-in affair. I’m happy to be corrected?

  • instead of dropping the fuel jet, you could always put a bigger NOS jet to get the AFRs right?   :good:

  • nobody likes manuals anymore? :( sounds like changing gear yourself will be a lost art pretty soon….

I would have jumped at the Malwood T56 option! You get all the fun, highways would be a breeze, so what if you sacrifice a couple of tenths at the strip, it’s still going to be a friggin quick car?? doing a trackday or going for a drive down a…[Read more]

  • What’s funny is my dad and I just recently joined the Monaro Owners Club of Vic, and they asked us to bring it in for their monthly meeting. I was honestly expecting a bunch of old bearded guys that all have classic monaros but there was a good mix of old and young (people and cars). And asking around, there were a few guys that either don’t have…[Read more]

  • I honestly thought about buying SS badges and sticking them on the wifes Tiida, and rocking up to their next cruise anyways…

  • My brother in-law joins the SS owners club and asks: “hey can my brother in-law come on a cruise? He’s got an 02 monaro”. Reply was “sorry buddy, it’s not an SS”.

Honestly what a pack of prats. It’s not like it has 80% identical parts or anything….

  • Is that first picture a Nos Fogger????

And I thought dry sumping takes more than an accumulator, doesn’t your oil pump need to be changed out altogether?

    Watching this closely…

  • I was thinking maybe wrapping it, even in a fake leather or something but the shape makes it nearly impossible.

    A PlastiDip would be ideal???

On thinking again…. You have access to a 3D printer don’t you? Would it be hard to CAD one up for yourself?…
