1800Hp in what weight vehicle? Yanks rate their boxes to a specific weight.
No Reid case? What did that bad boy set you back.
November 19, 2015 at 8:08 am #11458Yea, all that. I have said all along, dyno numbers mean nothing. Not one person who has ever been in this car have not looked at me after a stab of the throttle and not said FUCK. From guys who know nothing about cars to guys who themselves run 7s dragsters. Dont care, its all about area under tthe curve. This car makes 80% of max torque at 2000 rpm, if you dont understand that i give up and frankly don’t care. Its a genuine street legal car. May not post the dyno sheet, why does it matter?
Nail on the head there. Too many people get caught up in those numbers
I bet if you told some rookie “oh it makes 280rwkw” he would laugh” then go for a drive and it powerskids like champ and he goes “fuck mine doesn’t do that”…
Engine dyno (can you get that being crate motor)? and moroso are better indicators of power
November 18, 2015 at 9:38 pm #11454What the dyno says and what the car does are VERY different.
Its just a tuning tool
November 18, 2015 at 9:36 pm #11453My LSR comp cam needed+2
November 18, 2015 at 2:05 pm #11424The t5 knob doesn’t fit the ratchet shifter. I tried.
November 17, 2015 at 7:58 pm #11395So not a lot has happened car wise over the past 2-3 weeks.
Misses has been ready to pop and last Sunday she gave birth to our first born Lily.
So been pretty pre occupied. But when I’ve had a chance I’ve sneaked out side and been having a play. On the list was the VL manual rack. I changed over the rack ends to new VR units and re packed it all with grease and some new tie rods.
I’ll be pulling it back out to give it some black still also.
I’ve also has to remove the steering column so I could pressed the VL end of the intermediate shaft onto the VR top half. So it’s all apart and hopefully I can sneak out and get some new unis and get it all pressed together. Big thanks to Vsmanta for steering me in the right direction.

November 16, 2015 at 8:38 pm #11360Haha thanks fellas.
She needs race car finished ASAP. I Got some left over trim I’m putting to good use
November 16, 2015 at 6:16 pm #11356Haha would of loved to. However we had our baby girl on Saturday so I wasn’t going anywhere. I don’t think I will be for a while now lol
November 16, 2015 at 5:24 pm #11353Yeah i wouldn’t change it anyway. 1 i like the look. 2 while the air box may be similar on the dyno but at the track is what its designed for and it works very well. I also take the filter out as its worth 2 tenths.
2 tenths?? That’s alot?? I ran at calder without a filter, but admittedly i didn’t think it was worth that much. Has anyone done a dyno with/without the filter? Also at what stage of the build? I’m only pushing 245rwkw so i’d guess it wouldn’t make that big a difference, but higher power engines need more air, compounding the problem. This is the first time i’ve heard anyone knock the DUS for lack of airflow so i’m interested now…
8-10rwkw by removing the filter on the dyno.
Making around 270rwkw
November 16, 2015 at 5:22 pm #11352I can co steer…..just saying.
November 16, 2015 at 1:59 pm #11340Today End! Post race inspection, took about 18 litres to fill it this time, not bad for about 14 minutes track time … Also found I’d suffered a major failure… 2 of the plastic ties that hold the fan to the Trans cooler had let go!! Figured I can rebuild it I have the technology… and replaced them. Apart from needing the Mud washed off that’s about it.
And I was about to take your advice on using the cabel ties. Knew something was dodgy about you.hahahah
November 16, 2015 at 1:51 pm #11338It was notable driving around town which I think made for a worth wild gain.
Cost me $400. Sold my DUS for $450. Bonnet closed/open street and dyno.
If yours is mainly strip it’s prob not worth wild as u remove filter

November 16, 2015 at 10:15 am #11331On back to back runs on APS dyno I picked up 7rwkw. The filter element is simply to small as Luis said to me.
Made also evident by you 2tenths gain when removing it.
The surface area of their pod is much bigger. The Induction noise was also very notable under WOT.
IAT’s were monitored and they were lower. Heat soak was also a lot less
Not to mention IMO it looks a lot neater and more “STOCK” to the untrained eye.
November 15, 2015 at 11:12 pm #11326Awsome news mate. So Satisfying when hard work pays off
November 15, 2015 at 10:41 pm #11325There are gains to be had by removing the DUS intake and going APS air box.
November 15, 2015 at 6:06 pm #11313If you ain’t got money u need plenty of time. Vice Versa.
