Got it, I wonder how long before some of the aftermarket companies start to design up nice low profile alternatives.
Too much work as it also effects the intercooler inside the lid.
November 1, 2019 at 3:16 pm #30414Nah completely different.
October 31, 2019 at 8:24 pm #30409Only the ctsv lid has the lines on the back.
October 31, 2019 at 4:47 pm #30407Hey Cav, is it possible to put that op on the blower 180 degrees so the two hoses come out the back not the front? Is it symmetrical?
What you talking bout Willis???
October 31, 2019 at 4:46 pm #30406Will go 300kw 400rwhp IMO
October 30, 2019 at 8:47 pm #30385Slowly tinkering.
Intake is made. Just need to buy. A 5inch turbo guard for street duties and a 6inch bellmouth for when I race.
Engineer spec intake is next. Radiator hoses are also sorted and I’ve also done the heater hoses. Going to see what it’s like without running the heater tap at first. If no good then I’ll add some in.
October 30, 2019 at 8:38 pm #30382Geometry and bump steer changes. Ian can explain this at a greater depth.
Dropping it that much create issues with rack, headers, etc.
To gain the 48mm clearance under the car you would then have to raise the suspension.
October 29, 2019 at 5:30 pm #3037148mm is quite a lot. I’d draw the line at 25mm
Either mill the lid and gain some clearance or change to a ctsv lid.
October 27, 2019 at 12:11 pm #30351Very snug. With the accelerator. Won’t that be uncomfortable with the controller in the way?
October 24, 2019 at 8:39 pm #30333Ahh ok. So bonnet clearance is the thing. You need to drop the whole lot otherwise your Tb will clash also
K frame spacers and CTSV Lid. Done.

October 24, 2019 at 6:15 am #30325I still can’t work out what the meaning for all this is?
Can you enlighten me?
October 21, 2019 at 5:21 pm #30297Apparently it meets ADR
October 21, 2019 at 12:38 pm #30288October 20, 2019 at 8:07 pm #30282LOL won’t happen without a CAMS license and a Club membership —————————————————- Bit more thinking on the intermediate steering shaft today, I was going to make 2x shafts 1 for each rack height setting, they would have had fixed uni joints at each end as I did the Lexcen.. In hindsight this may have contributed to some of the notchiness in the steering as Uni joint don’t rotate in perfect circles, it’s more a figure 8 motion with some length change as they turn. I’ve found a late model Rav 4 intermediate shaft new at a reasonable price and have ordered it, I’ll cut the ends off and graft on my own, the shaft telescopes so will serve 2 purposes, 1 it’ll get rid of the notchiness 2 it’ll allow length changes and make rack height changes far easier..
Ill pretend I’m you. Post makeover.
October 20, 2019 at 2:04 pm #30277When it’s done. I’ll take it for a steer.
If 4 eyes are better then 2. Then imagine Having a test pilot.
October 19, 2019 at 11:10 am #30271forgot to mention that I had to tap out 6 bolt holes “total” in the block 4 in the mounts and two for the bellhousing were slightly cross treaded all perfect now , got some 10mm plate for the start of the mounts going to cut the x member mounts off and move them back so I can run the air con pump , the motor is sitting back 30-40mm (I’m guessing here ) from where it would sit with of the shelf mounts be it TUFF or CRS , pros and con more room in one place less in others will just have to work around it less weight forward is a good thing , means I can bring radiator back towards motor , more room in front for aircon radiator and interchiller setups plus going to have radiator lower for a custom otr (air intake) modifying the snout and throttle to turn more into centre, big plans
What are you trying to achieve. You have lost me
October 17, 2019 at 3:55 pm #30256Was going to suggest pinning it like one would do to a balancer. With a blower. Or is there a way to do a key way?
October 17, 2019 at 1:48 pm #30251Mine had an issue where it jammed full throttle, issue was trying to wrangle it back after you shut it down with no power steering. Id have a switch that enabled that to keep going some how if possible
cant happen if it’s mechanical.
October 15, 2019 at 9:48 pm #30226Fuck…. This is why we can’t have nice things, good to hear it’s just a rim, a BIG stop button would do the job, wire it to the ECU power in so it shuts EVERYTHING down..
Isnt that what the key is for?
No good Harry could of been much worse. Gotta be thankful for what’s the final outcome was.
