Why the cowl? It should fit all under bonnet
July 23, 2017 at 6:51 pm #23719Ls7 lifters drop striaght in. Always Measure pushrods to be safe.
I used comp cam trunnions, there are other out there that also work.
Dont need double chain. But I purchased an adjustable rollmaster setup so I could “dial” the cam in correctly.
You can use a UD pulley but it’s not necessarily needed.
Where are you located? I can recommend you a tuner and someone in Melb who could go a step further and spec you a custom cam to suit your needs.
July 22, 2017 at 6:50 pm #23698I’d had the comp cam 215/223 with great results.
The 219/227 is the next step up which mates have used with awsome results also.
I mentioned these cam earlier….
Would need a PAC beehive spring or a double (mypreference)
wont have to touch heads, can shave slightly to bump the comp if you really want.
No converter needed. Will have plenty of grunt off idle.
Dont need roller rockers but I’d recommend a trunnion upgrade.
stock lifters will do. But if lifting the heads new ls7 will Sufice.

July 10, 2017 at 10:42 pm #23467Hey Cav, you worked out what’s causing it yet?
yeah she keeps rubbing up on the shower screen
July 10, 2017 at 8:27 pm #23458Haha.
In al honesty this oct is the plan. Misses is preggo again. If it’s not done it will be on back burner once #2 comes along.
July 10, 2017 at 7:14 pm #23454By summer I hope.
July 10, 2017 at 6:44 pm #23452Haha that the plan. Want to run it as much as I can until I hit some of my goals. Ultimately I’d love to do drag challenge. But one step at a time.
Gave my lower control arms some paint so they look shiney when the go on. Hopefully in the next week or 2.
July 10, 2017 at 3:30 pm #23448<p style=”text-align: left;”>That’s a nifty tool. So many times I’ve scratched my head trying to work out how to bend a 90 angle and then just given up lol</p>
July 8, 2017 at 10:22 pm #23428Just wondering how the Coils are going to go there under full noise it being the hottest part of the engine bay…
Dont give me logic. Haha
July 8, 2017 at 6:27 pm #23425Good progress. Curious to the size of the two LED lights on the stand in your work area there ? Thinking I might change mine over to LED’s as the floods I have burn the power when on.
Yea they are good, very bright but keep cool.
yeah heaps better then the old Fluro. One downside. You can’t use them to heat something lol.
July 8, 2017 at 6:13 pm #23424Yep, I didn’t take enough time or notice when the guy did mine, heaps of small differences I would have made, but I guess it works. I am lucky with a dark coloured engine bay it sort of hides into the background, but with a white one like yours you want it neat I guess.
yeah it will stand out more. I forked out abit for loom. It’s all custom, made from scratch. So it should look trick whilst still be hidden.
July 7, 2017 at 10:56 pm #23416Perfect spot for you Cav.
Yeah I rekon. I just got to make sure the measurements I give the guy making my loom are spot on. Cause once it’s made there is not Cutting into it.
July 7, 2017 at 5:05 pm #23412Actual I should have more room. For got my blower steps in a bit. Shows what I know LOL.
July 7, 2017 at 4:56 pm #23411Good to know. Never knew anyone that used them aside for BIG $$$ engines. Does it cause clearance issues?
What boss engine aside from lsa has oil squirters.
July 7, 2017 at 1:25 pm #23406Yea I looked at lots of different spots, but in the end there is a nice space between the back of the heads and the firewall. On mine I mount it to the engine, using the two rear most bolts of the valley cover, but if I did it again I think I would probably instead have used nutserts or something and mounted it to the actual firewall. Whatever you do put some thought into making sure you can remove it easily, and if possible when the loom is made give it some length so you can pull it out but still leave it connected in case you suspect a dead coil or whatever for trouble shooting.
thats actually not a bad idea bolting to the back of the heads. The blower takes up a lot more room back there then the itb’s. So it’s gunna be interesting regardless. Thinking glove box is easiest. In terms of maintenance etc. just the leads will be bloody long.
