If you aren’t building a “Class” car is even a minimal loss of power such a concern, whatever lid you run you’ll have adequate power in such a light car… Personally I’d keep it under a stock bonnet if that were an option.
Yeah that’s in. The guys over there come factory with them. Back in the day the ZL1 lids were cheap, like $250 as apposed to $700 odd now, so they all changed to them.
But in later years, guys have been porting the insides etc and actually found that despite the smaller brick they are actually better, but more Ugly IMO
BUT its got more clearance.
May 15, 2020 at 9:13 pm #32159A ctsv lid would of made it under imo.
Do you lose power with this lid Cava?
if you read stuff from the states where 95% of the ctsv lids are , they are not as efficient, and I think the intercooler brick is smaller so a loss in power to some degree but depends on what else has been done to motor
Its a smaller brick but has better flow. The fastest LSA’s run the CTSV lid.
May 15, 2020 at 9:03 am #32154Had the pleasure of viewing Ians car last night whilst i went down to pick up some parts he made for me.
All i can say is WOW. This thread does it no justice. Its going to be insane when its done.
May 12, 2020 at 6:32 am #32134My spacers are Tig welded to the converter. One less thing to get wrong…
Yeah that would be ideal, but I can’t see how it would differ from using the correct spacer and having it locktite together.
Using a spacer I also don’t have to drop the box. I can just undo it, walk it back 1 inch and slip it in. Shit loads easier.
May 11, 2020 at 7:49 pm #32130You forgot to add the most important thing you made today. Lol
May 10, 2020 at 1:09 pm #32112Yeah that’s. It’s a small problem nothing is broken etc. I’m actually in fact going to send the converter away to get modded as apposed to running spacers etc.
May 5, 2020 at 8:36 pm #32087Minor hiccup. Box gotta come out. I didn’t put the spacer in for the converter. So it’s not turning the pump. FML

May 4, 2020 at 10:36 am #32073Top work Cava. Whats the Haltech dash like? Is it running off the factory ECU?
Yeah factory ecu. I haven’t really explored the options and set it up correctly but so far so good.
It doesn’t display everything tho. As the ecu doesn’t spit out all the relevant info.
May 3, 2020 at 3:23 pm #32059Did you leave enough room for the hoses off the front of the lid?
May 2, 2020 at 8:15 pm #32051Nah I haven remind me what it was you needed.
May 2, 2020 at 11:36 am #32049That’s awesome work cava only four and a bit years I have a long way to get to that stage ,do you still need to tune it , and take blower off for engineering
Its got a HSV BASE tune already in it. Just needs a tweak and she will be good to go. I’ll be engineering it with the blower.
