The issue isn’t what the dash can read. It’s what the ecu puts out.

You will need a gps module to run speedo on the racepak.

To run what gear your in you will prob need the Dakota box to send the racepak a signal anyways.

The dash should be legal for road use.

What year is the actual ECU? It should be ok IMO

Majority of the info you will be able to obtain from the OBD2 port. But there are certain parameters that the ECU does project with the Racepak so additional sensors would probably have to be used. Thats where it gets costly, but it wouldnt be many depending on what you really want.

I was originally going down the racepak path, but have since considered buying a tablet from amazon.com for like $80 and trialing the AUTOMETER OBD2 reader ($250). If it works, ive saved a bucket. If not ill sell it to some idiot on FB lol

What ecu do you plan to use. Any ls pcm  pre 2008 lags when using the obd2.

    damn it’s quite a bit.

Is the weight saving worth the added noise?

so the only other person I know with a crate motor is cava so cava have you had the charger or heads off yet as your not going to run charger right away ??

ive had sump off. Looks ok. Will soon find out.

Mines a bit different. It’s a production engine as apposed to a crate. If that makes sense.

Good stuff car. Slow and steady but SUPER clean is the best way. As everyone has already said it’s quite satisfying. Makes it easier on the first build when all your doing is assembly. Then you can work you way from there eventually and start measuring etc yourself.

So take it all the machine work has been completed and all parts arrived?

Is this final assembly or just a dummy? Heads done?
