Was gonna start a new thread but found this so thought I’d grab the shovel and give it the old dig. There’s been some improvements in recent years with OBD scanners, anyone here use/recommend one? Supercheap have a Bosch unit on sale at the moment for $199, I’d like to get one to use during my first start up that can show oil pressure etc. to see if it’s running properly, plus future checks on stuff down the track. eBay have some bluetooth/wifi connectors for like $20 that use some apps to display some functions and let you reset fault codes but I’m not sure if they’re accurate or worth getting.

Im gunna use a scan tool too as I won’t have my dash setup. They are very handy.

The pinnicle of automotive excellence. Aka VR series 1 is like axle. With no abs or airbags.

Basically a purpose built race car from holden.  :nice:

^ pretty much what he said.

Each had pros vs cons. I wouldn’t be picking and choosing a car in that era purely on the rear end. Just go with the car that suits your needs/tickles your fancy the best.

There is 3 Allen key plugs you use. They come in a lot from memory. I got mine from precision international.

Bolts on like any other manifold. Just use the correct procedure and sequence and al should be good.

The top section requires the specific lower section from memory.

Be sure to post some snaps 👍

Copper was free. Cheaper and easier way to do hard line.

We use copper on caravans etc for gas lines. If clipped right it’s ok

This is all hard drawn copper and crimp fittings. It won’t move or bend, unless someone rear ends me

    Something different I suppose.

After some consideration I’m not 100% on it. I might paint the copper black or possibly even white. Thoughts??

I didn’t take a photo but I’ve also bent up my 1/2 feed line for the fuel system. Must say it’s not fun doing it on the floor, esp when I’m using 1.1mm walled hard drawn stainless.

Looking good. I know your paint about those headers.

Just noticed you have you heater pump nipples blocked. You should run the loop. Blocking them creates unneeded pressure build up from what I’ve read.

Cheers mate You will need a scoop to fit the lsa cover. Mine sadly doesn’t fit. Gotta sell it

I have some cleaver ideas and engineering trick to make it work , in saying that it will be a lot of work to make it fit

Assume you going along the lines of k frame spacers etc.

Made a start on the ice box install. Everything is mocked up. I’ll head to Gisborn tomorrow and get the copper flare to JIC spec. Then I’ll come back and tighten it all up and proceed to crimp.

I don’t think flow will be an issue.

Also picked up some billet valve covers with should look the part.

You can tarnish the coating during the tuning process. Happened to mine.

I’ve been told that if you want hpc coated pipes to stay good. You need to get a few heat cycles into them prior to coating. So the colouring from the heat sets in. Then get them coated. Not if that’s true or not.

they also say tune the engine prior to coating.
