What made you buy that? Wouldn’t of been cheap
They are fair chunky looking. Not subtle.
June 23, 2019 at 6:49 pm #28957You need a VE bracket and alternator to suit your pulley offset.
You will also need to buy a blower tensioner bracket and the upper and lower tensioner pulley.
Also need some sort of idler to fill power steering pump void.
Get it all from HSV direct.
June 21, 2019 at 8:35 pm #28951You should of popped in. I’m 5 minutes from them.
June 19, 2019 at 4:25 pm #28945Nah I don’t mate. My lid just clear the group a scoop and TB just clears the bonnet skin.
June 18, 2019 at 10:20 pm #28943The Headers will have the same relationship to the subframe they always had… I think if anything building the headers will be easier as there will be tons of room on the drivers side for a change. Just to be clear I’m NOT advocating 50mm spacers just mentioned it as that’s how Holden got around it on the CrossTrac cars, I’d use what ever gives you 10mm bonnet clearance and call it good.
More so in retro spec to ground clearance.
I don’t know if you have mentioned it or not but what’s your engineer say? I’m shocked if they say yes.
Out of curiosity. What’s a CTSV hat worth? Is the cost difference that much? Bear in mind you could sell you brand new zl1 lid for decent money. ESP to someone in USA. Those guys are always looking for them. Just food for thought.
I didn’t want to stuff around with spacers, I didn’t like the idea of them and the potential suspension and steering geometry changes it could make. I was happy to run a small scoop and went with that.
June 18, 2019 at 2:57 pm #2893550mm will make headers a nightmare IMO. Collectors will hang heaps low.
will require brake lines etc to be modified. So keep that in mind. It would open a can of worms
June 17, 2019 at 11:53 am #28926Easier to access it that way. Facing the other way is a pain as cage is on way. This way I can do it from folding down rear seat.
June 17, 2019 at 10:24 am #28921Running the lines under the car is a prick of a job, especially with no hoist. Trying to pick locations for everything is a pain as well, how you’ll run the exhaust will impact where to mount the lines, filters etc. [/quote
Yeah I did it all on my back. Suprisingly I nailed it first go all in one length with hard drawn. Just need to flare each end and adapt to 200 series speedflow.
June 16, 2019 at 10:12 pm #28918Fuel system was always going to be stainless. Has to be. Fingers crossed engineer likes it.
Under the car will be the next battle. There will be a lot going on with 2x filters and the Flex sensor
June 16, 2019 at 10:09 pm #28917Bloody hell. That’s a BIG spacer.
I wouldn’t go bigger then 25mm personally. Change the blower hat. Or Mill the top of the one you have.
June 16, 2019 at 9:28 pm #28914Got back out there and finished the boot install.
Was waiting on my Rigid Flare tool. Which I needed to buy to do 37degree flares.
Anyways all finish….For now…..
June 16, 2019 at 11:50 am #28904Hey all I have done some home work and modifying the cross member is out of the question so now looking at spacers ( I know I said I wouldn’t but ah ) so can any tell me pros and cons if any Castlemaine have a kit that would fit it under the bonnet (Thoughts)
So a custom tubular K frame is not legal either then?
Highly unlikely.
My mate with a VP used 25mm spacers and a ctsv hat. It JUST fit.
I have a feeling you have even less clearance.

June 15, 2019 at 6:53 am #28899Looked into the Caddy lid?
trouble is they are not as good as the zl1 ones
You will actually find they are better. Whilst the don’t have as good a brick, they are capable of flowing more air.
June 11, 2019 at 2:51 pm #28872My lad is dating a girl from Sapin and her family were out here. So they borrowed the truckster and went down to Second Valley, McLaren Vale for a couple of days. Apparently, it never missed a beat, and even Clara’s Dad thought it was pretty old school cool
Should of given him the senator, then he was in for a sure thing.
June 8, 2019 at 2:59 pm #28861It’s surprising how much stiffer the cage makes the car.
June 8, 2019 at 8:20 am #28857It’s 1/2inch .9 wall stainless.
I still have to add all the bulkhead fittings and flare. But I’ll make them up and polish before I flare.
June 6, 2019 at 9:32 pm #28851Monthly update. 👍
June 2, 2019 at 8:34 pm #28818Ve bracket and alternator.
Factory Holden tensioner as the power steering is part of the rack.
June 2, 2019 at 7:19 pm #28815Haha yeah I was the first to comment on that thread. Was an eye opener for me.
Thats a good find you have there I’ll dilverge into it a little deeper.
On the CTSV they are all on the fuel rails. Just before the inlet.
