Mines EFI. But I can supply loom and ecu. Could VERY easily convert yours to EFI.

440HP 304 and trimatic.
I ran it will 3.9’s and had zero issues cruising it around the streets. Could turn top gear and ran a best of 12.2@114. 11second combo in an early girl like yours.

April 12, 2015 at 9:26 pm #4594As cav stated it doesnt add up, i read that you did a 13.8 quarter. My 260 rwk 355 did a 13.1 on a shit prepped track and prob a high 12 at a good track. So cant see the hp claim been true that old owner made. Has it thrown any fault codes or anything? Stupid question, but air intake is clean? My ute runs like bum hole as soon as filter needs cleaning. Chokes up and get a really bad idle and lacks top end power.

April 12, 2015 at 9:06 pm #4588Isn’t that what I said few posts ago??? Disconnect secondary throttle link and u will get power increase and that will prove theory. Get kalmaker tune done….
regardless where it made the 390 or not. It’s all of a sudden lost power whilst in his position. It’s got nothing to do with tune. Double check everything. Could possibly be something as stupid as MAT sensor. I had issue with mine. Although mine lost power as it gradually got hotter.
Do the test as is said and go from there. Wouldnt bother checking cam timing. Even if its out, it hasn’t moved from when u first got it. Wiped a lobe is prob worse case

Chassis dyno sheets mean squat. Just a tuning tool. Too many people get caught up in it.
also noted at some point his changed to a come roller cam and memcal. Bet my balls this hasn’t had a proper tune. That story he gave u about yearly would of been rubbish. Not to mention stupid even if he did.

Just a little heat shield. I don’t think it will kill u if u do or don’t have them.

April 12, 2015 at 6:26 pm #4567Read the plugs. Comp Test it or even better Leak down Test. See what that says. If nothing shows. Run a dial indicator on each of the retainers and turn it over. If it’s wiped a lobe u will no.
It it doesn’t just loose timing. So don’t go feeding it more or it will ping. U mentioned the diZy was loose. Hasnt turned and effected base timing?
Drain and inspect the oil and cut open the oil filter. Check for metal filings.

I Always thought it was a baby cammed 383 + chip package. Most likely to sit bananas. Which is about right given the timing pumped into it.

I cannot stand it. Would rather cable any day of the week. Also with fbw u need the correct pedal assembly and associated sensors plus a computer that’s eligible to run it. Buy the motor and just conver to cable. That would be SO much easier

They sure can. Just got to use a reputable builder.
