Looks very open like that, maybe easier to work with? Its similar to how the VE front is set up with the chassis rails?

Thanks very much, trying to find the motivation to put it back in.
Steering feel on mine is excellent, tbh I can’t really pick the difference between how it was before and after. But bear in mind there quite a bit more weight over the front I would imagine compared to the little 5.0. But very happy with it.

I reckon they will be the same pitch as the rear axle bolts. Pity you arent in SA, I have some spare I would have donated.

Does the way the front diff works, means the engine sits where it sits in relation to the front axle centerline? Is it possible to change the way that works so you can get a better choice in diff ratios? or is that too hard?

Really looking forward to this build. Having followed the VR build its clear how much you picked up along the way development wise. Should be great to start again but with tons more knowledge . Game on.

So looks like its mainly the overhangs that are less? Is the weight including the cage, I assume there a bit of weight in that?

That is interesting, the VR was actually a relatively light car though. So is there any weight to take out of the BM shell? Can you get f/g bonnet/boot/doors etc?

It’s always tough when you are trying to keep on a budget, to work what to spend money on and what not too, so I do understand. But having been down the path before of not having a cooling system up to the task, and sitting on the side of the road with overheating issues, I can say it is a total pia. My radiator was custom from PWR and was a…[Read more]

Mine, of course, is not first gen but pretty much, simply put, power makes heat, so if you are going to make a lot of power, you are going to need a better radiator to cope with it. Throw that in with a physically smaller engine bay area and potentially slow cruising, or burnouts etc with no air movement the heat issue compounds. Given all the…[Read more]
