So 304 in the VL is 320,000kms, running fine but fuel economy is abysmal. Won’t start cold, unless I hit it with start ya bastard then it fires and runs fine. Has new leads, distributor cap, plugs etc.
The eventual plan one day is to pull it out and build a nice little 355 stroker, mild cam, nothing outrageous just a nice torquey tow car. Bu…[Read more]

Too much. Id go the Holley Terminator X if I were to do it again. Significantly cheaper.
Also if engineering laws are more relaxed for you I would go cable Tb also.
However the factory ecu does make engineering simpler, otherwise I’d have a haltec in it.

I spoke to Matt and he said they aren’t adjustable. I am guessing you know this but they (system not straps) are made in different angles for open wheeler vs sedan etc. But yes they are long. He sent me this link to the Hans website where it says this in FAQ

You don’t think 100 series is up to the task?
Thats what I used. My old setup used 400series push lock.

Sweet as mate, we are racing at the Nats this weekend, if I remember will ask Matt how he had his hans set up done, but I agree it’s the one thing you shouldn’t skimp on, you only get one head!!

I may or may not have mentioned this as being a potential issue when they were first mentioned
Step in the right direction. Maybe look into a ctsv hat? Is there a way to reduce the overall height of your mounts? Or can you sink the engine down more into the factory k frame?

Good to hear mate. You should put the temp sender in the rear of the drivers side head. It’s more accurate and and closer value to what the ecu reads.

Been having a play with the rear end since its got back.
Got my rear brakes all installed, nothing special just stock units that have been rebuilt and cleaned up, however they have to come back off as the handbrake adjustment is pretty bad, i forgot about that lol.
Also removed my old link pins for the sway since that’s no longer needed, and…[Read more]
