Nice work mate, neat wiring pays off in spades as soon as you strike a gremlin and have to chase it through.

So making a start on the brakes. Thought I would pull off and check, clean, paint and reassemble each wheel one at a time. Already learning a few MG specific things to know. But the left rear is almost done. Have to say brakes have got to be about the least enjoyable and dirty part of a build. But they are kinda important!
Also spent a while…[Read more]

Fuck they are killer photos.
Some laminated a3’s in the shed, next to the photo of me and my car would look killer.

That’s ok. I can’t get them anytime if your still keen in future.
Basing al my info on what all the fast yanks do. Around town the interchiller is good. But for all out performance at the track the Ice box reigns supreme.

If you keen on an EMP mate let me know. I’m going to be doing an order for another bloke in the next week. If that’s the case I’ll buy 2.
I wouldn’t bother with the insulation plates. All the yanks seem to think they are a waste of cash.
If you do choose the EMP. Go the biggest line you can. 1inch feed and return is best. -12 everywhere else.

I know some of the race car guys in the states swear by those perforated cones, I tried them and didn’t get enough reduction. Would be super interested to know the actual dB drop. Very cool.

Yea I know, but the Senator really should be a done deal soon, and I am happy to put the Kombi on the back burner whilst I finish off the MG. But yea my family has a history of too many unfinished projects so I want to try and stay focused

Nice work mate.
100% go with a Reprogrammed EMP. You wont buy a better pump. If its something you keen on, i can get them from a mate of mine in USA. They are around $650-700 depending on the AUD.
That’s what i’m using along with a boot mounted ice tank.
You will find with a better pump and reservoir you will be able to go back up to to the…[Read more]

Do they really work, have you done a back to back dB test by any chance?

If anyone is doing this sort of stuff and has a drawing or sketch, I am always happy to model it up in 3D CAD so someone can get it NC machined if they want. Most likely do that for nicks, but could also for a small cost 3D print a prototype through Build Ninja if ya wanted. Just throwing it out there.

Yea I totally get that, nothing can replace those memories. Funny how those older station wagons have become so cool. All they need is to be lowered a little and they are cool as imo. I have just always had this desire to have a small collection of usable cars to enjoy. Once they are done, the Senator, MG and Kombi are almost all I want. The…[Read more]

Yea I agree, a few years back he owned two E Type Jags, one was a series one hardtop that was mostly finished, I did the wiring conversion for him, he did all the machining etc to make it RHD. But he also had a series 1 convertible that was a total basket case. I could have bought them both from him for $20k but at the time had no money

Hello all, well I have to say very very excited to be given my Dads 1950 MGTD and be able to bring it home today. He started the restoration about 10 years ago but unfortunately his health means he cant finish it, so he has passed it onto me. I would say its maybe 75% done, just really needs all the mechanicals sorted and bits and pieces f…[Read more]
