Maybe double check with ANDRA. Pretty sure they don’t like the plastic battery box in the boot. As you can’t bolt it down (have to use a strap).

plastic box doesnt faze them [for 10.00], just needs metal braces.

Loving the wheels gmvl. Look tuff under the vl. Are you doing the battery to the boot yourself???

My friend Scott at Amped Auto Electrical is doing the whole electrical side. loom, leads, coil relocation etc.

I’d go with a 9×5 Hate to follow BUT 9×5 just looks so right on early commo’s. That being said mine has baby 9×2 k&n thing sticking out…looks subtle, pity it’s hidden by brock scoop to keep plod happy. ps Want to see this big chasers on back with turbo hubcaps..sell a kidney!

Chasers? What are they? Haha, only time it will have chasers is when its frying tyres at pcm!

^I cant quite see on that photo showing the starter swap, but have you checked the engine turns over? I know on some of the early swap plates plates (like mine) they fouled the bolts on the back of the flex plate and you had to shave the plate down to clear them. The new plates in the kits have a relief machined in, just might be worth checking before you get the whole box in and find it doesn’t turn.

We must be on the same wave length. I just told my mate today we need to check this.

It does have the cutout but just need to be 110%!

if you are after a right hand drive transbrake button for that shifter. You can get one to suit for $160 from bliss custom machining.

I’ll have to get on that for down the track when it gets a transbraked. Cheers man!

The rear qtr windows [which i think you are talking about] are sikaflexed in from factory.

If you are in vic you can get roys windscreens or baycity autoglass to clean them up and refit them.

280mm with black caliper. Mainly so i can run my berlina hubcaps down the line. You looking at this route as well?

yeah I am mate. Current brakes are 343mm so I can’t run anything less the 17 inch. Which makes finding a front runner Hard and pricey. I have 2 18inch front runners but I’m still yet to be be told if I can run them or not. Tires also aren’t cheap for them. Bout $800. Lastly how am I meant to trial for you alumstars with big brakes.

True, that does make trial fitment a problem……. Spacer? haha

Cava I reckon with the power that LSa is going to make just from a performance point of view you want nothing less than 343mm. And if you are concerned with the price of tyres on a car like your you are doing it wrong… Bdj-007 I am not sure if I have read if you are having this engineered? What state are you in?

Can call me Brent mate  :good:

I’m in Victoria mate. I will get it engineered at some point. It just hasn’t been on my list of priorities yet. Although it probably should have.

Which Wilwoods did you end up buying.

Ah OK, i still haven’t seen a pic of these actually fitted to an early girl yet.

Theres a few getting around now. but you still dont see them too often.

Just checking you have the correct (bubble) flare on those brake lines into the VT Master? If it’s the factory double flare then you really should have the adaptors on there. They’re only a couple of bucks from Race Brakes Sydney. I didn’t have them on my setup for a few years (typical ‘she’ll be right’ approach that I often take) and of course it started weeping at the worst time – whilst on the track at PCM.

No idea honestly. It came out of Scott Mccaffertys black vk ‘vkefi8’. I’ll just run the same lines and everything he did.Same setup as Matt Smoores red vk ‘fstgmh’ as well. so i guess guaranteed to work? might not like the wilwoods though haha

Im actually looking at moving my windscreen washer bottle and came across someone that was making them to fit in the area where the wiper motor is for vk vl etc. Just a thought.

It is a good idea. It would clean it up alot. I like the fresh overflow and recon they look nude without it,

Killer car, It’s a shame you can’t do backyarders!! I want my bay to look like that!! HDN05l you wouldn’t happen to have a link or something for the washer bottle?

What do you mean a shame haha  :-P

That bay looks nice & shiny.Well done dude! Pity the 15 inch turbo/vn-spac hubcaps either expensive for these & too hard to find

Story of my life man haha. Every time i find a set for $400 they are just junk.

Holy fuck that looks unbelievable. Basically how I want mine

Surprisingly wasn’t all that bad or hard to do man. probably helped i’m keeping the fusebox and overflow in the bay to.

Gotta be happy with that. Something about a freshly painted bay, the only problem is everything that goes back in has to be at the same standard. Nice progress.

It’ll be nice and neat with black speedflow fittings and hoses. there will be 4 things in the bay. Overflow bottle, booster, fusebox and engine. hidden wiring will make it look killer

Havn’t been able to do much. Still waiting on a diff and trans to get this party started. Soon i hope.

Put the booster in. Never thought it’d be that difficult to put on 1 nut. Damn steering column

Put the front end back together today. It looks amazing!

New additions was a new front bar, new headlights and new overflow bottle. Now the real fun starts!
