Anymore updates Cav? How did you go with the brake line plumbing in the end? What was the problem you encountered doing it wrong? I’m starting mine shortly so any insight into something i might potentially overlook would be good to know. Haha.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>I automatically thought the same about the abs in vz models (I thought anything from vt onwards was standard abs) but have since found that abs was an option on base model vz Utes/crewmans and that there’s some around that had no abs optioned. Strange I know but you can certainly buy non abs vz masters from my…[Read more]

Coming along nicely Cav. What’s needed to fit the vz booster and master to the Vr? Is there a conversion plate in between firewall and booster? How are you plumbing the brakes with the abs master for non abs? Just teeing out of the single front brake port for the 2 front brake lines? Im finally about to make a start on my Vr 355 turbo project and…[Read more]

Haha, You won’t find a quote from me in the mail mate, we’re on opposite ends of the country. If you were local id consider taking the job on. Have you explored the options of having one made out of a composite material like carbon fibre/ fibreglass. If someone would lend you a plenum to make a mould it might be an option perhaps?

I can see that his is already fabricated.. And i’m saying it could be done a lot better if he chose to find someone else to do so. its a very simple design. For a 1 off, its probably the cheaper option, especially if he knows someone that can weld/fabricate aluminium. Also, i don’t think he wants to make a heap of copies to sell to everyone, but…[Read more]

In all honesty, that plenum could be very closely replicated by fabricating it again. Some laser cut ali plates and a bit of mill work for the holes and detail on the top would net the desired result i’m sure (i’m a trade qualified metal fabricator). I nearly took this path myself when a cheap lower half popped up years ago, I decided against it…[Read more]

For a one off job, I highly doubt china will be cheaper. The last thing we want is a mass produced china copy(or any copy really) of our beloved group a intake getting around, even if it is just the plenum. If you can get it scanned and then get someone to knock it up out of a billet that’d be the go.

Nice calais mate. Its good to see I’m not the only one that has talked themselves into daily driving an 80’s era commodore recently, haha. I just picked up a Vl Berlina in very similar condition to daily drive as well. I’m resisting the urge to do too much too it at this point but will likely get some bigger wheels, and a standard-ish spec turbo…[Read more]

I’ve only ever heard good reports about Jason’s work, that’s why i think I’ve decided to use him to build/tune my turbo Holden 355 combination when the time comes if he’s interested. I’d love to see some vids of it running if you can figure out how to upload. I bet you can’t wait to turn the wick up!

Turbo 304/355 is the go man. That turbo should have enough compressor there to get you your 10 no worries. I bought a turbo setup years ago that used a gt4088 1.34 t4 flanged turbo ( never used it in the end..) but the guy that used it before me (spasm aka scott355 off st coms forum) went 10.80 ish @136 with a mild 355 on pump 98 in a vn ss from…[Read more]
