Excellent IJ, thanks for the tip, I think I will try and do the same will be way easier. My local tool place had 500kg scissor jacks for half price before the EOFY, couldn’t resist…

+1 for that, its why I have stopped on the MG, I can’t get it on the hoist until the Senators done, and I did a couple of things on the ground then decided yea-nah I will wait. Once you have a hoist you wonder why you went so long without one.
Btw IJ, can you fir it up inside the chassis rails with both headers buttoned up fully? I don’t r…[Read more]

Got it, pretty familiar with catch cans and their job, in fact, had to do get up to speed for engineering. That guy that runs the Brock VB look-alike drag car that is on the front cover of the SC mag I was featured runs a catch can with a closed cap when he is on the street, presumably he claims at light throttle loads the total rebreathing back…[Read more]

I remember a design guru I worked for, (he literally was a hyraulics genius) once told me the hardest few seconds of an O rings life was when its being installed, so easy for that to happen, and no way of knowing.

Lol, never heard the term “puke can”. Is that just in case the engine lunches itself?

Agree, I watch a lot of their stuff, very low on the BS factor.

Yea it’s very cool looking. Tbh I am not really into these early cars, as they really aren’t very usable or practical. This only has two wheel mechanical brakes for example, and even the pedal set up and driving them is weird as. So, in the end, they stay in the shed and get driven once every year or so, which is not me at all. Its just its i…[Read more]

Thought I would start a thread on another one of my projects. It’s a 1923 Nash 4. My family originally comes from the Flinders Ranges in SA, and my great-uncle Adam had one of these from new. Its still in the family and restored. So when uncle Adam had his, the story goes there were another couple in the district and they were given to him for…[Read more]

In my aerospace days, I have seen quite a bit of research on various lock washers, tbh in the end Loctite is the go, or even wiring them in a race car application.

My induction won’t support 8,500 rpm. 7,000, maybe 7,500 is more like it. But time will tell…
Yep the pedestals on the heads where the existing rockers mount get machined flat to take the adapter plate, then I think it’s working out pushrod length and buying them. Then I think assembly and dyno time.

Good little video explaining that all engines breathe, also interesting idea locating it in the boot in a race car application.
