Great stuff, so does the snood help with general welding, or is it mainly if you are working overhead, etc?

Cheers Cava, do you know if it running, is there a link to any pic, forum etc?
It’s all on performance forums. It’s running. Not tuned or drivable yet.
Its a killer build. One of my favourite.

Before where I am now, I was halfway between Gawler and Two Wells, I remember what a pita it was going to buy stuff, getting home and realising I had either forgotten something or they sold me the wrong thing, grrrrr.
That bead roller is a nice piece of kit, making nice progress mate.

No, I remember his name was Blake, we wrapped it in Atlas grey, from memory was a pro charged 355, 4 link rear, lambo interior, just totally out there.

Worked from home today, so got a few things done here and there. The trans linkages are all hooked up and adjusted, took the time to drop the pan, its all spotless, but did an oil change anyway. Also played around with the headers on the drivers side and got the maximum amount of clearance around the steering shaft. Drove ot out of the shed an…[Read more]

All good mate, if you don’t buy it, it means the longer it goes the better chance I have of picking it up one day ha ha. It’s all personal preference really, I think the VN/P SS look fantastic from the outside, not a big fan of their interiors. But imo the VR/S HSV’s were the most beautiful of them all. Have you seen the VP SS Blake from the…[Read more]

Actually one of the guys that work for me has a genuine VR V8 5 speed manual exec, and I think it’s live. It’s done a bazillion k’s, rough but honest, and would be a great base for a build. If I didn’t have so many bloody cars I would buy it off him. And before you ask its in Adelaide, and I am not sure its for sale but I can ask him for yo…[Read more]

I have actually been feeling exactly the same way. I posted on a welding forum and they suggested a few tips (extra lights, magnifiers, etc) which all helped a bit but didn’t really make a massive difference. I reckon the funds from the power steering pump are going to go to a helmet like yours. Should help me with the Kombi

Personally if its a project car, I am guessing you will end up with a bit of power and maybe want to race/skid it I would go live. But as Cav has said I wouldn’t necessarily choose the car based on it but if both were available I would go live. As Immortality has said the IRS on second gens if pretty ordinary. In fact, let’s be honest its pr…[Read more]

Had a bit of a health issue with my old man on the weekend so didn’t get a lot done. Did manage to get the starter support bracket fitted up, that I think has sorted the noise on cranking.
But I wasn’t totally confident I had adjusted the ratchet/glide properly. So just went around to see the boys at Norwood Auto’s. They happened to have a VR…[Read more]
