brilliant idea!
August 4, 2016 at 8:52 am #18872I’ve used that type setup in black on a V6 with 1 3/4″ headers. Pretty much the only thing that stopped them melting in a few thousand km.
More generic name for them is “fire sleeve” you can get them at industrial supply stores in free length and then cut to size.
June 5, 2016 at 2:19 pm #17548Got any pics? Would help to see what is fouling
March 31, 2016 at 10:20 pm #15374No you don’t need to take out the whole cradle, at most unbolt it to lower it a bit to gain some clearance
The K-mac kit is excellent, they also provide a bush extraction tool which allows you to remove the old bush without removing the whole arm. Pay attention the direction you insert the bolts as it can make adjustment a bit tight if they go with the heads on a particular side.
February 10, 2016 at 2:38 pm #13981Site must have been down now it works.. What a cool gadget… The keen to see what you make with it. As said above with cad skills and this you will be on fire.,
Link works, just take the last full stop off the end.
February 10, 2016 at 2:34 pm #13980Diff mount and Trailing arm mount mods look good. Be interested to see how it goes on the street
January 29, 2016 at 10:18 am #13708Here’s a set we prepared earlier
Looks great! Are they height adjustable into the base or just welded into it?
January 10, 2016 at 11:19 pm #13225Seen a Ecotec e30 getting around eastern creek, pretty good combo. l67 would be great tho
January 8, 2016 at 11:35 pm #13141Ah ok, so it’s been out for ages. Yeah K-Mac is Aussie, they seem to be focusing on export these daya
January 8, 2016 at 9:37 pm #13137Wonder if anyone makes them for rigid rear springs great idea.
check out the K-Mac coil jackers. I think they have a design for solid rear axle springs. Fully adjustable with a tyre wrench, no c-spanners
i seen these at summernats 21, ages ago.
yeah they’ve been out for a while. I first saw them at SEMA in 2011
January 7, 2016 at 8:32 pm #13116Pinion might have been clearances or could just be rough from the factory. Are there any markings on the pinion end?
changing diff center so the mesh and preload would ways have to be redone, no escaping haha.
when you seat the bearings, make sure they are fully home and square in the housing bore. Oh and double check everything. Hope all goes well!

January 4, 2016 at 10:03 pm #13025Sure thing, I’m away at the moment not back to my regular computer till 11th of Jan but you can google for the gates manual for the GT3 series of belt. Spec is in a table towards the back.
if you can’t find it I’ll post it when I’m back.
January 3, 2016 at 1:02 am #12972maybe a dumb question but was it ok before? Check the plug gaps and leads are properly seated. Also sometimes the wiring loom that plugs into the DFI can get loose on the connectors and cause an intermittent spark.
Sounds like it’s pretty easy to reproduce so logging the Haltech could give some clues.
December 30, 2015 at 3:41 am #12812Yeah mines street/track and was trying to avoid cutting slots but have resigned myself to slots front and back like your front bar
December 30, 2015 at 3:39 am #12811Spec is from the gates technical book for that series belt. It’s interesting the trend in cars to run them so loose.
btw that is tension not force-displacement. So the force in the belt along its length, not the force to depress it. I’m sure then is more than 25kg force in the belt when it’s turning the blower
December 29, 2015 at 7:48 pm #12799For that gates belt the min tension is 56lbs, that spec is for checking with a tension meter.
December 29, 2015 at 7:46 pm #12798Thanks, I’ll have to do something different as I still have the exhaust in the cutout.
December 29, 2015 at 3:16 am #12774Do you have any pics of the tow strap on the back..
December 26, 2015 at 3:15 am #12698What’s the part number off the belt
