Posts: 227I see you got DBA 330mm on both cars. What caliper have you got? Do they fit under 17in rims fine?

Posts: 227Will get a photo… Yes when you pull the ignition lead off the spark plug there are these metal cylinders with a spring on the end. Don’t get what they are meant to do – something that carries a ton of spark doesn’t really need some conducting metal around it to potentially give you a buzz.

Posts: 227Good write up on axle tramp Gary!
I used to get axle tramp something chronic – replaced all the shocks/springs/bushes/camber-toe kit and put in whiteline diff mount insert… BUT still get axle tramp once in a while :( Got told that the wheel alignment was perfect after camber-toe kit… Definitely a reasonance frequency thing as it only happens at certain times/wheel speeds.

Posts: 227I have paid particular attention to these developments due to the industry I work in.
If you look to the past, VHS / Cassettes / Mp3s / Napster / CD & DVD Burners, the technology is always one step ahead.
TOR (the onion router) and VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) can easily hide your IP address / location. Again technology one step ahead…. These are very easy to set up, i’m told…. ;)
In the US the movie studio that produced that dallas buyers club has asked for some big amounts of compensation. Luckily for us, the Australian law courts run alot differently. Basically the courts set the compensation, and the court will most probably fine you the cost of the DVD.
All of the sites people effectively download from are run by US companies/gangs, but have servers based in a nice country. So has these notices / laws stopped the people in the US?
Legal alternatives have previously been so far behindthe ball, cost & content, that people had a reason to download. Now with Netflix / Presto / Stan / Quikflix streaming services, a $10 alternative seems quite reasonable.
So illegal downloading will just be a little bit harder, and legal alternatives will be cheaper and easier, so this paradigm shift will stopped alot of downloading… so people will cry from the mountain tops about how this court case has scared all the pirates into hiding.
BUT the Game of Thrones season 5 starts on April 12th – so expect a massive wave of pirates in big pirate ships to arrive! And us Ozzies hate paying uncle Rupert big bucks to get the foxtel subscription with GoT, so expect the news to start with articles about Australians being the biggest pirates in the world!!!! hehe

I wondered if it was the T5 knob underneath as I can just see the circle that goes around the gear pattern on mine…

Posts: 227Update #2 – so this long weekend I have done a fair bit of driving. Did 2x 45 min highway drives & 2x 45 min suburban drives with some stops on fri. Sat did Brisbane to Redlands Bay and back withoit turning the engine off. Did brisbane to goldy and back today – hour 15 each way. No return of gremlins above.
Sat did get some coughing under full gas in 2nd gear at high revs, It did keep going but wasn’t smooth. Then when I tried again and it would be fine. No loss of power or stalling, so don’t think it’s related.
I’ve got leads, rotor button and rotor cap to swap over.

Posts: 227Brad, what’s your opinion of COME? Would you recommend? Got some serious stuff on their website.
How come the block has been there a year?
How did you get the block to them & cost?
did you do the brake upgrade? If so what was involved upgrading to VT?
Cheers

Posts: 227So I had a dig around… turns out there is bit of slack on the power window cables that was jammed in, so that made life a little easier. Looks like the connector is jammed under, see pic below. Only one connector is visible in the pic but the other is just behind it. I didn’t try and disconnect it as I thought I would never be able to get em back together. When I give it another go I will take the stero surround off and see if I can get to the connectors easily. I didn’t try and pull on the cables, should of in hindsight, so there may be some slack.

Posts: 227Cheers Gary – Yes I have read that post and it has made me have a second thought on the LS option. If I could just swap out the 304 for stock 300kw (flywheel) LS motor for reasonable price I would jump at that upgrade. Need to keep an eye out.
Has anyone here gone down the stroker path? And would they just go the LS path if they had their time again? Or was it as easy as it just changing the crank, rods and pistons (yeah right)?

Posts: 227Can you guys shed any light on why you went the way you did and what other options you considered?
LS sounds awesome, but the only way I see it working is buying a written off car (with no engine damage).
