Im not too concerned really and why bother for 7rwkw?

    Whats the airbox worth?

Was the test done with bonnet closed?

I know the filter is small but on takes few sec to remove it and my cars not exactly sleeper material under the bonnet.

Yeah i wouldn’t change it anyway.

    1 i like the look.

2 while the air box may be similar on the dyno but at the track is what its designed for and it works very well. I also take the filter out as its worth 2 tenths.

I do love it ,awesome car it handles well, brakes well.

Just needs an exhaust tune an otr so it sounds like it should

    it’s way to quiet atm.

On another note my parts turned up from summit racing so

I’m installing a new lsr 3 bolt cam 235/251  today should be cranky!

I want to go turbo eventually.

Depends what your asking price is and wether I have the funds

I doubt I could afford it atm.

Just  recently bought a new vf ssv redline, was very close

to buy an ase kit but decided to get a new car instead.

Mine used to be an m6 too, can’t  beat an auto at the strip though

and manuals are a lot harder on the tailshaft, drive shafts and diff etc.

I always thought the 4l80e was ok guess not.

Cant go wrong with the turbo 400 they are very tough boxes.

I could go up to a 200 shot but I don’t think the rear end would like it

Haven’t broken a cv yet but always carry spares.

Bit much for cast pistons, plan to upgrade the rods and pistons next year.

I got a turbo 400 built by craigs automatics good for 800hp.

Wouldn’t  be so bad with a taller ratio like 3:07 or 3.45 but 3.9s suck on the freeway.

    30min drive is enough lol.

Saying that my turbo 400 will handle pretty much anything I throw at it.

    Have you considered the 4l80e?

Been out again recently to wsid

Tried a smaller 219/235 lsr cam and TCE reworked my converter now 4500 stall

and  went 11.4 120 mph twice.

Tried 150hp nitrous pill and got massive wheelspin and went 11.00 125 mph

2nd go went 10.9 123 mph (bottle empty) and got kicked out.

Need to use smaller fuel jets as its too rich atm but should be easy low 10s once sorted.

I’m upgrading to a comp lsr 235/251   113 lsa  and 624 lift in the chase to lower

    my et N/A.

Looks like its time for a  few upgrades and rollcage and andra license though!

Series 3 with the maf don’t have a map sensor and you cant just do a simple swap.

They only  way it can be done is with kalmaker and a map

sensor is wired in somehow .

But the tech is very old and dos based and not many workshops are doing it these days due to needing old  laptops and paying for security for each car.

Also the series 3 and vt tunes are very limited with what you can do

6300rpm,airflow is limited and you may max out the maf and spark tables.

Best option is to get the vs manual ecu and engine harness and swap it over.

This will give more tuning options  and you can run a 2bar map sensor

and tune the delco ecu with custom 2 bar tune or use one of the new haltech ecu’s

    as a direct plug in.

The sequential injection you wont notice any difference imo

    over batch fire  vn-vs ecu’s.

Changing ecu and harness is easy but you

will need to fit a port for map sensor modify the wiring on the vt dizzy

or use a vn-vs distributor and drill  and tap for mat sensor in the manifold.

Manifold off job really and imo prob easy just to source earlier vn-vs parts

unless your using an aftermarket intake manifold.

    Nice setup. Love the sound.

I’m looking at a turbo setup down the track myself.

    Thanks mate.

They fit good just need to grind a lil off the caliper bolt.

It does sit high and im trialing drag bags atm.

So far so good its reduced the squatting and no traction issues.

Been busy with this car  ive fitted

some new weld 15×8 wheels 275/50/15 drag radials and

had the guards rolled and fitted drag bags.

Ran a 10.8 126 mph so finally into the 10s!

Plenty more in the car as the nitrous bottle wasn’t even up to 900-950 psi

due to being so cold. This was with 100hp nitrous jets so with a bit of fine tuning

it will get quicker and im yet to try 150hp.

Wouldn’t think so unless you used a standard tps.

It logged a code so its basically telling you what the problem is.

I agree about the wiring ive seen plenty of bad wiring, broken plugs etc

due to the age of these cars.

A lot of the time people go replacing parts and its actually a wiring issue.

Seems some of these aftermarket tps switches are bad quality too

I swear by eldebrock and fast they are good quality products.

    Holley are good too.

Tps will cause issues like you have described id get a new one.

New alt belt wont hurt either.

Ive had one but the dual hi rise.

Seen a few ,best way is to use a vk throttle cable and ball joiner.

Bracket use a aeroflow or similar bracket or fab something up.

Use the standard temp sensors you need both ,for fittings go to pirtek

and if you want an aftermarket guage fitted id just put it in place of the factory

guage. The ecu temp has to be there to run correctly.

The mat sensor is usually located on number 6 runner but it wont matter

what runner to much but best to keep it similar to factory.

Throttle body should have some vaccum fittings for map and fuel reg.

Port for the brake booster runner 7 from memory.

I blocked my heater ports just too messy with the factory hose.

Pic of one I did years ago, wasnt the neatest but it was  but worked.

wouldn’t use that style of thermostat cover as it was too close to

    the fuel rail.

Other pic is a customers car with a harrop  dual plane.

I use efi live myself its very good and you have custom os for

nitrous and forced induction as well as logging to the hand held unit

via sd card, very hand at the drags.

Efi live forum has tones of info.
