LSx454, 600 plus HP, 600 ft/lb, NA, straight out the box. LSA isnt the only way to go. Not saying LSA is a bad way to go btw, just saying there are other options.

Yea and a few bolt on tweaks the lsa making 700hp. Like all blown/turbo stock motors, heaps left in them without going heads and cams etc

When you have 600hp and running tens with fuck all work who cares how ugly the motor is lol. LSA is definitely the way if you want to engine swap.

Haha cheers mate yea its a work in progress, ill let you guys know how it goes. Tranny and pipes cook floor so much even the side of radio facia gets hot and cooks my left leg haha

With my hq when i did it the difference was huge and all i did was spray in sound deadener top n bottom of cab plus an underlay with alloy backing. In summer my floor would get so hot feet would sweat. After the sound and heat cut out was amazing. And for those who chasing drag times it only weighs 3.5 ks for 2sqm

Haha yes it actually is odly satisfying, as its not crazy sticky so you can position it perfectly, and work from one side with the roller.  Rolling it to the contours of the floor. The more you roll it the better it holds, not much effort required to make it look like a pro did it.

Would take effort to remove and no doubt once some heat gets in it will stick even more. I made sure i went up the sides of trans tunnel etc as my centre consol gets quite hot.

Floor plan had got do hot in passenger footwell where the extractors are that the original sound deadener had gone brittle and broken down.

Just gives it more of a thumpy sound compared to the standard ones and obvious power advantages if running cam etc. Got a mate with a set on a standard 304 and had a very thumpy idle.

So i ended up going with a thermal acoustic insulation that is a aluminium backed butyl matt. I purchased it off ebay and was 1.8sqm for $115. Its about 4mm thick with all combined layers and 3.5kgs a square meter. Quite good to use, once you roll it on it sticks quite well quite hard to get it to come back up. I am sure once some heat gets into it will seal it even better.

I put it over the top of the standard stuck on deadener and will install an aluminium foil based underlay over the top before installing carpet.

Yea the stuff i have is pretty much that, then underlay over top with foil backing as well. When i did full resto on my hq i put all new door rubbers, sound deadened floor, underlay and blocked up all holes in fire wall. The difference it made was crazy.

Floor on passenger side been getting so hot where fire wall meets floor the standard sound deadener has brocken down

Yea did the drivers side last night do passengers tonight, i think will make a good amount of differance. Would be very happy if it keeps the heat temps down!

    Great idea, think i will:

put the original stick in neautral or drive position as thats pretty much center of the selector positions

Then make some datum marks on trans tunnel then measure front back left n right,

Install drop box with temporary rivets

Fit the ratchet shifter so centre of its shifter same as centre of original shifter using datum marks.

    Install plastics and check it

Once in corect position remove drop box and weld bolts into drop box to make easier fitting and removing

So i got the drop down box made by a mate of cavs, mint bit of gear. How did you find was best way to line shifter up in it so was perfect with facias etc?

I have all my interior out so will do now as makes sense to, just wondering best way to line it up without putting in and out a million times,

Once i get alignment correct i want to weld bolts to drop down box so dont have to struggle doing nuts n bolts up
