So did a little bit more as have been busy with work, i took some others advice and sound deadened the box with spray on sound deadener. Also fitted couple of grommits in it for cable and dakota wires.  Also got a mate to weld bolts to box so can just place the shifter on it and throw some nuts on rather than jugling nuts and bolts from inside/outside trans tunnel. As you can see i am bored most of this probably not necessary haha

I put the cable through a heat proof hose, on the of chance it hits something hot, also ran the wires for the dakota unit through it.

Fitted the drop down box on a bed of sika, looks semi professional …..maybe

Thinking rivet nut inserts into drop down box to avoid bolting from top and bottom as prick when wanting to remove shifter etc, thoughts on if they are strong enough? As there is a little bit of force pushing ratchet shifter through gears

So was a bit of a fluke but i took my time putting drop down in, in what was what i thought perfect position. So with shifter in and the auto facias slightly adjusted its a perfect fit.

I also am thinking of mounting nuts under the drop down box so dont have to piss about trying to get nuts n bolts done up from underneath car. As you can see because i cut the reverse lock out lever n welded in line with shifter its a tad short, who uses these shifters been shorter will it be annoying. No it does not hit facia not even close just bit further down to flick up

I will also be putting black slide strip back in so u dont see white edge of facia slide strip will have slot for reverse lock out with a brush seal. B-)

    Bahaha i can imagine!!!

Got the drop down box cut in now just make a few adjustments and start to hook all the linkages up for the shifter. Just have to have a dummy fit as think shifter sitting too far back to sit nice in standard facias

When you fitted the pro ratchet shifter did you use the standard cable from box or did you run a new longer cable? Did you have to change anything other than what came with the shifter in the kit

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery mate! Looks good. Only wish i thought of it before i fitted it. Welding mine in the car was a bit nerve wracking. Looking good buddy.

Haha i can imagine, cutting it must have been a prick as well, did yours weld like shit? Just tacked it for now and noticed was horrible to weld.

Got the grinder out and took to the shifter, cut the reverse lock out leaver off so that i could shift it over inline with the shifter handle. The leaver is normally offset to the gear shifter and would mean cutting an extra hole in the shifter surround. Stole this idea from VRsenator haha

So looks like some gifts from the posty arrived today. The pro ratchet shifter and a dekota digital gear selector read out.

Already have my drop down box made up, ill start cutting up ratchet tomorrow so i can flip reverse lever in line with gear shifter so that can sit in standard facia nicer and look like its factory. Will run my gear selector lights via the dekota unit. Ill post plenty of install pics.

Not interested in the come manifold?

Mate as much as people knock the bananas for forced induction the down falls they have with NA applications are pretty much void by the fact its getting air forced down its throat.  Not to mention still looks stockish apart from blower on the side lol :yahoo:

Half your header in sitting hard against the chassis rail?

He solid mounting the motor so zero movement when reving, surely 5mm clearance is enough

So picked these up from pick a part to add to the sound deadening from a stato,

as had to remove the passenger one as wanted to tidy wiring under there from sterio install. Hate random wires threaded all over the place. I also added a switch to elec antenna as want to be able to have it down when just using ipod etc. Also added a signal booster as for some reason this pioneer head unit gets shitty reception. No idea why as old one had perfect reception.
