Posts: 322Hey guys got another spring this week and fitted it up. Bloody tight i must say. Started the car and loving it. Idle nicely under 1000. Around 750 maybe a lil more. Then drove out my driveway got 500m down the road and clutch at a intersection and idle back up to 1500. Im starting to think a tps sensor so im ordering one this week. Hoping it will fix the problem. Ha ha if not il buy a new stang. ha ha. What do you guys think of the new mustang?? Been seeing a few of them getting about lately and i dont mind them.
Yea had one in the states for a day or so, gear box is fucked, drops gears all the time so you want to slowly overtake and its dropping gears making you look like a tool. Sound good like all yank cars, downshifts for u in auto so you get a manual sound when slowing. Kinda cool how it has a line locker standard. But waaaay too much homo fast n furious spec stuf like blue neon back lights in door sills, foot wells and various other places. Projects the mustang image on the ground when you open the door lol. Fun car, but dont think worth the coin here, prefer the camaro.

Posts: 322Would say carpentry as you usually have long term work, ie one house will give you months of work but for a plumber or sparky maybe a week or so. Not to mention carpentry only one step away from becoming a builder. Advantage of plumber and sparky is that can get good coin on wages, carpentry wages is shite.
My engine builders guys who were all skilled trades, not sure what they were called, were on less than i pay my labourers, not much coin in mechanical trade any more. Unless you are the actual boss. My old man was a mechanic, but was a cheif mechanic for a race team at Bathurst and forged his whole business from it, did well enough to send me to private school etc etc. If your good at it there is money in it i guess.

Posts: 322Ah yes, but my theory is they didn’t come out of the Ford factory, I believe the interior roof light for example on a VR has a Ford and Holden part number. But the one in my car was never handled my a Ford guy Btw I realize my almost pathological hatred of anything Ford has pretty much no actual real factual basis, but it is real in my mind
I could make you cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posts: 322For something different i took the tops off a vs caprice leather door trim and made them fit the original door card. It gets rid of the crappy looking material. <span style=”background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);”></span>
Mate that looks mint, did getting the door reupholstered cost much? Did you paint the rest of the door trim black or is it all new?

Posts: 322Id get them done in the ss trim looks more in theme with the car, also means that you have brand new trim. Nothing else in your trim is that slate grey plush velour and the senator runs visors, door trims to match with that veliour etc
Just not sure if the ss trim will be a bit much on the door trim as its quite a large area of the door

Posts: 32210.5 with alloy heads would have been ok with a w/m spray or good intercooler, but with iron heads it’s a bit more of a problem. 288 is popular, wouldn’t say it’s small, duration wise.Street roller out of the budget?
Not really about budget but dont want something thats a full head f#ck as in the pipe work involved with twin throts and intercooler. Will be happy if i can turn it into a 11 second weekender, every one telling me to go 288, 5200 stall is not real inspiring tho

Posts: 322I notice you customised your radio surround with gauges, your colour code is same as mine i25? So obviously after inserting gauge mounts into it you had to repaint, where did you get the colours from to mix paint up as want to repaint some stuff in my ute

Posts: 322So started pulling interior apart its out with the 2007 look of colour coded plastics.I want to paint all my plastics a satin/matt black like this car, i will also be doing a ratchet shifter same way as in this car.
Also cant decide what to do with door trims, i like them i know some people are not a fan of them i will be changing the old wood grain that i painted blue to just gloss black.
However this is my problem i dont know what to do with the cloth part as its stained and want to retrim.
I have full ss cloth that i purchased originally to retrim the devonish seats to give them an ss look but every one is telling me to keep the senator look.
So if i keep the senator look what should i do with inserts, if i go ss look obviously they willl be done in ss material

Posts: 322Is that a kitchen/lounge in the garage or garage in the kitchen? Either way i bet your proper excited Custom built or is that actually common?
Na mate its custom built wouldnt think its common, its so you can use garage as extra living space if you wanted to. Its great as i can just get up off the couch and do some work on car still talking to the fiancee and watching whatever tv show i was lol
Have started stripping out a lot of the interior, as its a bit 2005 at the moment. Also been getting new door vents and odd plastic trim pieces that have got damaged over the years. Pic a part been good hunting as many granpa spec cars there that have never felt the touch of a young P plater haha
New carpet respraying my dash facias a colour closer to standard, retrim the door tims and fit all new plastic door vents, new tint etc and fitting ratchet shifter integrated into standard surrounds.
