Anyone know how good the standard sound deadener is (not carpet underlay)? As trying to get temps down in car from zaust. Is aftermarket matting with alloy back better? Or could i stick aftermarket over the top of it? As i know removing is a prick as would need to use dry ice etc.

Pick of new black facia installed looks so much better, yes still have aftermarket dials as in the move lost the hsv original cluster faces haha. Understand momo wheel not to everyones taste but was the best looking wheel with crash pad that i could find. And yes handbrake cover been replaced, back in 2007 this was the best option i had as leather was peeling on standard one.

Got my bits back from my painter, came up as always exactly how i wanted them. Satin black for all the dash facias and gloss for the door trim pieces.

Also got my drop down box for the b&m shifter, just waiting on my dekota shifter position gizmo. Once shifter arrives ill take the grinder to it and make a few minor adjustments. It will sit down in the standard facia and run in standard slot. It will run the dekota to light up shift positions, a lot of people just run all one colour led in each but honestly thinking maybe green for all drive positions, red for park and reverse and white for neutral. Or is that too much just stay one colour?

Na mate was the only option with the ss ute and the guy didnt get it lol.

Some pics of tub liner for bloke asking about liners, this is a raptor liner. Can be tinted to body colour and sprayed through a sound deadener gun. Very little prep work required hence i used it as really couldnt be assed spraying inside tub

Lol found this pic, my panel beater knows i am a little ocd when it comes to paint etc so he polyestered the whole rear of ute, hence its so flat

Any pics of shifter install, currently doing my one, was it very tricky doing it with 4l60e? Or instructions etc make it straight forward?

The kit cost me about $300 took a day of prep. Not slippery but its not an everyday car so im not really in the back that often.

Lol a day of prep, how many beers you have ;) Give the ute tub a clean with a scrubbing brush the clean with prepsol and rub down with scotch bright. Then spray in, i used raptor liner, you can also tint it. And yes it is hard as fuck, its slightly slipery. If you go in my thread i think i have close up pics, you need zero skill to apply it just like sound deadener. :good:

So got the facias ready for paint going satan black then gloss black with the caprice door moulds. See how it looks, as getting caprice trims re covered in the 25i colour vynal and maybe black leather inserts in door trim.

Got all the seats out etc, new black seat belts, momo wheel in and ready for new carpet. I am going to try heat proof around trans tunnel to combat all the zaust heat. Can get underlay with heat resistant backing

I understand wheel not to everyones taste but cheaper to go aftermarket than have my standard one retrimmed.

Milling marks from removing the ford logo from the xf falcon throttle body before mounting it to the group a :)

Yup lol couldn’t believe it, it is just an xf throttle with ford ground off it haha.  I actually found a shop selling brand new ones, got a few for 200 bucks few years ago, probably should have stocked up. No idea what the secondries one was off tho.

Yea when i built my hq i filled every hole etc in firewall, sickaflexed around any dodgy grommets, sprayed shitloads of sound deadener onto floor, then thick underlay with alloy backing and thick carpet. The difference it made was astounding!!

Worried about getting to thick tho as vs plastics have to clip back over the top, not like hq where stuff could be screwed down like door sills etc
