After reading through Gary’s post I decided to run the same set up in my ute with the Dakota digital gear display and B&M pro ratchet.

I went off to JayCar and got all the lights and Molex joiner.

Played around with different ideas but settled on the below.

Busy day today, up early to drop the ute off for the diff rebuild. Got a call not long after telling me the LSD is cactus and the options where LSD $400 Eaton True Trac $600 or a Detroit for $900. Decided on the Eaton which i think will be best in the long run. Also found out the handbrake shoe’s had had it as well.

Not a cheap day but $2000 seems fair for the Eaton and 3.7 gears bearings etc.

Now i just need to run it in this week. It already has some more get up and go, once i get it retuned I’m sure it will be fun!

Hey Gary might be a silly question but did you use resistors when wiring the shift lights? Or did you run the positive straight to the dakota unit?

Im a fan of the A pillar or you can do what i did run it in the aircon vent for something different.

The centre console seems to be the best place for multiple gauges.

That will look nice with those gauges, take some photos of what your doing if you can.

I’m thinking of adding some extra gauges soon.

Cheers mate. Its all coming together now. Putting it in summernats for a bit of fun.

It has been white walled now and i’m happy with it, understand its not everyone’s choice but don’t plan on having the tyres on it long lol.

Great, thanks Gary i have ordered the Dakota unit yesterday so should arrive with the shifter this week ready to fit up over the long weekend.

I may go a little different to you for the display but haven’t decided yet.

    Cheers

Ok so thought i would play around with photo shop to see what it would look like with walls on it. I don’t mind the look but still on the fence about the white wall thing.

Thanks Gary still needs a few tweaks here and there but mostly done for now.

Looking to get a speedo corrector kit to fix the issues with new ems and 20″ wheels so that will be the next thing on my list.
