November 22, 2015 at 6:59 am #11528They were specific to HSV GTS and Senator too from memory. Very rare

Posts: 227Yeah I got the VS Senator manual with old woodgrain surround (garnish / trim / ?) and i reckon they looked crap in the mid 90’s and now 20 years later it really looks crap. Got a bloke that can make one up, but he wants to take the surround out of the centre console and it’s held in by the squished heat plastic nipples.

Posts: 5 777Is it just laser cut sheet? Few places you can get that done if you have a CAD file?

Posts: 227Underneath the fake woodgrain is just plastic (obviously), so i assume they were just a fancy sticker.
Never made a cad file before but I’m quite cluey on all things computers so I’m sure i could work it out…

November 24, 2015 at 9:34 am #11621The one you are after is the one from the premium console the padded calais/statesman style one. Its fake leather its a vinyl that this sits in.
Best bet would be to get your existing one coated. They have been on ebay a few times and pulled drug money but not in the last year or so. They are nla seen few poor knock off ons ebay didnt really even resemble it. They were origionally resin with a 3m backing. They were not real carbon obviously but id call them console insert/inlay. I have a new auto one here they just peel the backing off and press onto the hard plastic shell underneath.
You can get your plastic bit wrapped, coated in a few ways. Only thing unless you fill it you will have the indent for the coin cutout where its meant to be flat.
And no one will/can match the exact original I have tried this to death. I have also found very expensive exercise

Posts: 227Cheers Sands – you are spot on. Spoke to one bloke who is keen to do it, but said he would need to take the plaster surround out of the fake leather padded padded calais/statesman style console. so I was a bit hesitant about it but it maybe the only solution. The bloke has done some pretty good work – check it out – https://www.facebook.com/conceptcustomsaus/

We removed mine and refitted it without any major dramas. Biggest problem was getting it to stay back in kept breaking out after. You could vinyl wrap it and keep it on there but looks pretty average doesn’t have the deep gloss finish you will want
