Good job , That should be a bit of fun with the TH 400.

Yep, unfortunately it is too much fun, very easy to get into trouble lol.

Nice setup. Love the sound. I’m looking at a turbo setup down the track myself.

Turbo is the way to go now. Plenty of businesses making good kits. Also a lot of good technology to help with racing now.

After I get a transbrake my mate wants to throw in a 2-step and a bump box for shits and giggles.

Interesting that they could find your boost problem straight away, when others failed. Any Vids of the dyno runs? Making good power now

Yes interesting. I got stuffed around a fair bit by RP. Who also said that my id1000 injectors would be big enough for E85 when they maxed out very early. They also charged me Injector Dynamic prices for the id1000s when I only got the cheaper Bosch version. I ended up stepping up to 1700cc injectors.

No videos. If there’s a dyno at the next powercruise powerplay, I’ll throw it on and film it.

I’m pretty happy with the power figure, I wanted 500kw or 700hp. But I believe the block is holding it back. So I told Indar to leave it how it is now to be safe.

what can you safely run through an aluminium block? Weren’t HPF and the like getting 1000 RWHP on an aluminium block before it broke? (correct me if i’m wrong)

Pretty sure your turbo is about maxed out.

mates forged cast 6.0 wouldn’t make any more than low 400rwkws through a TH400 and 3500 converter with the same turbo (pump gas) going from 12 to 18 psi only netted about 20 kw.

Testing exhaust manifold back pressure pre turbo would tell the story.

But where its at is still gonna be plenty fast, hooking up is the biggest hurdle.

My VX is crazy on street tyres and high boost 575 rwkw, will break loose rolling on in 4th gear at 160kms plus

The block is probably fine for plenty more HP, but I wanted the power to be all day everyday, without having to worry about when it was going to break.

It’s just a dyno sheet. Run it down the track and see how much power it REALLY has. The th400 would be more of a parasitic loss then another gear box. U would gain X rwkw by going back to a t56. But the car won’t be anywhere near as fast

True, but with dyno numbers I can roughly calculate what I expect (read ‘hope’) to run.

Looks like this Wednesday is meant to rain. So slim chance of racing.

MPH doesn’t lie. That’s gospel. Nothing else.

Well that’s interesting. I have a time slip showing 482mph….

also, I’m curious how many people weigh their cars before going to race…

Ran 10.9 on my second run. Then this one on the third, before being kicked off for no cage.

Heaps of wheel spin on take off, hit the limiter because of it, then shifted early into second, where I hit the limiter again and then hit it again in third.

Still plenty more in it, hopefully make it back next week.

    M&H 245 wide.

Not sure how to rate them over the M/T. Weather has been to cold to compare them to the Mickeys I had during summer.

    New PB.

10.452 @113.08mph. Intercooler pipe blew off and I hit the brakes.

Update on the M&H Racemaster drag radial tyres also.

Found that 16psi when hot worked well. Recommended is 16-18psi. I’d say the extra 245 width over the 235 wide Mickeys, works well and also these seem to last longer then the Mickeys.

These tyres were also a fair bit cheaper then M/T when I first bought them.

Racing this Sunday. Hopefully not too busy at WSID, so I can get some good practice runs in and go for the 140mph goal. Or 9.99 time would be good too.
