Will the dump pipe kill the ac pipe being that close?

    Looking good but :)

Dump pipe is wrapped now. AC should be fine… I hope.

Did you modify the AC line, or just heat it up and bend it so it sits closer to the strut tower?

Just bent it over with a couple lengths of pipe.

One near the firewall so the block didn’t move and the other elsewhere.

Very nice setup mate! What a sleeper!  Will be interesting to see the gains to be had with going e85. Can i ask what was done with the speedo sender unit? did you use a dakota digital vss sensor or something similar? I need to sort out the speedometer side of things in a recent th400 into vy  i have done. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks mate. I am keen to see the results.

    Sorry for the late reply.

I bought my gearbox, crossmember and speedo sender unit from Craigs Automatics here in NSW.

Was easy to connect up. Two wires spliced in the original harness.

Best bet would be to call Craigs Autos, if nothing more local.

Bit of a set back with the tune. For some reason the wastegate isn’t working properly. Boost is creeping up. Tuner has disconnected the eboost and ran straight off the 7psi spring in the wastegate. Still creeps up to 15psi before he backs off.

Hopefully find out out tomorrow what the problem is.

Wastegate is a brand new turbosmart progate 50.

Hoping it’s not the diaphragm. But that would probably be a more simple fix.

Either that or the cats are blocked. But I don’t see why they would be.

More controlled boost wouldn’t be too bad now with e85. But when it’s getting to 15psi even on a 7psi spring….something isn’t right.

Pretty sure they are. Not sure if the standard computer can control it to turn the second one on when needed.

Happy to be corrected. But I’m sure mine are both constantly on.

From memory, I think my tuner said something about being able to have the throttle position activate something which can, but not sure 100%

i run both mine 100% so if there is an issue it shuts down without pressure. Saves risking it running on one and not coping well or leaning out.

Has your pump gotten considerably louder whilst running? Mine has done it on two occasions, both when I had half a tank of fuel. But both times after long, hard driving. So not sure if the fuel was really hot, or its a normal thing.

Finally got my car tuned for E85 at the end of last month.

Couple mates suggested I goto Indar at Bligh Park Mechanical for the tune.

Straight away Indar found the problem with the boost creep. The way that RP set up the hoses to the wastegate was the issue.

    Made 477rwkw @16psi on E85.

Planning to race it on the 17th of this month if the weather is good.

    Nice setup. Love the sound.

I’m looking at a turbo setup down the track myself.

Interesting that they could find your boost problem straight away, when others failed.

Any Vids of the dyno runs? Making good power now  :good:
