i hope someone can help, I have a 98 vt 5.0L it was making a weird tapping noise, so I replaced the lifters, and now it’s still making the same noise along with a whistling noise as if it has to much air and wanting to stall, if I don’t tap the throttle the car will stall. I don’t know what could be wrong and Iv looked all over to find what it could be but no luck.

Sounds like a vacuum or gasket leak but could be anything. Bit hard to diagnose over the net!

Does the tapping change with the engine rpm? There at all temps or just when cold?
