    97 Vs Ute Series II

    5 Speed Getrag Manual

    2 & 1/2″ Catback Exhaust

    3.8 Ecotec

    Custom Fibreglass Lockable Hardlid

    Hollandia Electric Sunroof

Genuine SS Front Lip and Side Skirts

Alpine Headunit (bluetooth, iPod, aux, usb) 6″ Kicker splits with tweeters, soundstream amp & cadence sub.

    VX SS Leather seats

    Level 3 Calais Cluster

This car was my p plate car. I can’t part with it and im looking to make it my weekender/cruiser.
I want to put a new engine in, but not sure on which direction to go. Was thinking 355 stroker, LS1 but also possibly something turbo. Any thoughts/feedback appreciated

She’s had a few wheel changes

Very nice ute buddy, and welcome to the forum.  Lots of different opinions on engines, imo doesn’t really come down to a right or wrong kind of deal, more what appeals to you.  I sit in the LS camp, having an LSx454 in mine, but VSManta218 on here has a supercharged 355 putting out around 800hp, Cava454 is currently building a VR with an a supercharged LSa.  Maybe check out some of the builds on here and see what you like the look of.  Each has its pro’s and con’s

Nice clean ute mate, good to see another VS ute on here.

As Gary said plenty of options out there with motors. At the end of the day take your time and plan it out so you only have to do it once.

Also thinking of a little stance, so will be going coilovers and some new wheels. Was originally thinking varrstoen 2.2.2 but some replica BBS RS wheels have come up, and i think they would look mint, thoughts?

So, i’m thinking of focusing on getting it aesthetically how i want it firstly. So i can still drive and cruise it, until i do a little more research on which direction i want to go in terms of engine

Not a bad plan, once you start on the engine your sort of committed.

Yeah i don’t want to make an impulse decision, would rather do some more research and be 100% sure on which route im taking

I remember this ute from Proutes.

If you go down the Holden stroker route, my advise would be to build some thing other than a 355.
