Car has been running excellent, takin it for a few drives since dyno run and it hasn’t skipped a beat
I was goin to take it to C4C in nth qld next weekend and even had a VIP ticket but Unforeseen Medical issues have arose and instead I’m goin to the city to get looked at by a specialist and spend a day on the operating table instead
so it’s next public event will be at the drags for some runs on a test and tune night in a few weeks time
so idea is this tune just needs another tweek or 2 in the cold start and another road tune to fine tune it a little further and then I’ll save this on my lap top as my mostly used tune and is extremely safe and the car is very happy like this to drive
i am now learning how to make small changes with wide band logs and tuner can look to see if I’m doin things right to fine tune little parts as I go on over time
then ill save the tune with more timing when we do that and that will be uploaded when I go to strip or just feel completely and utterly stupid and want more power lol
we will also devide the e85 tune by 1.34 (or what ever it is) at some stage with very little timing so I have a safe tune that can be used for 98 if I choose to use it at some stage for cruises and so on

Posts: 5 777Great stuff, must be a nice feeling to now have a car with a nice driveable baseline tune, and also to be able to strt learning to do it yourself. Be very interesting to see what it does at the drags, hooking up will be key I guess?
September 23, 2015 at 6:37 pm #9490Think im goin to go for biggest mph and slowest time record lol
132mph @ 12.9 lol
I wont be able to put decent tyres on for a few months due to my back but when im better i will throw on some decent tyres and go for a decent 60 foot time

Posts: 5 777So how come Pete can just post a time slip but all I get is you want a vid of skids?
September 23, 2015 at 7:19 pm #9501You obviously haven’t seen my FB page Gary
Iv been having back problems for over 3 weeks now and my last Physio appoitment referred me to get a MRI on Tuesday just gone
on sunday i deteriorated badly and Monday I sneezed while at the shopping centre car park, that was it I was fucked and couldn’t move
ambos come and got me, dosed me up on green stick to get me on there bed, then morphine then Valium to tie me over the night till I got my MRI on Tuesday
the results are not good, L5/s1 lumba disc is blowen out and causing pressure on my s1 nerve causing me the wicked sciatic pain that I am sure other members on here have experienced
Need surgery
When i I do some runs in few weeks cava I will post fottage and time slips but first meet won’t be special as I won’t be able to launch it hard

Posts: 535Hmmmm, lower back pain used to be my best friend. Still comes back to reminisce once in a while.
If it’s as bad as it sounds it would mean getting the disk removed and the 2 vertebrae fused. Going to be a while before driving anything in anger larger then a vitz.
September 23, 2015 at 7:43 pm #9506Fuck no good with the back. Nothing worse. I get niggles but nothing like u have mentioned.
FYI 132mph is low 10second pass in perfect world. Knocking on a 9

Posts: 5 777Shit, for some reason (I dont know fb that well) this hasnt come up on mine. Mate that sucks. I am not sure what to say, hopefully it works out.
Cav, Petes car wuld run a 9 any day with an auto, with a mnual, I still say it runs a 10 any day of the week.
September 23, 2015 at 8:05 pm #9508That mph is 10.20-10.30’s territory regardless of transmission.

Posts: 5 777he was just picking a number buddy, look at his hp, weight etc, gotta run a 9 (with a correctly stalled auto) and think he is running a 10 any day as is. Time will tell
September 23, 2015 at 8:22 pm #9511LOL.
I thought he DID run 12.9@132
September 23, 2015 at 8:24 pm #9512Gary go into my profile and see if the (following) box is ticked, it will be near friends box
Hope there isn’t any fusing my disc together that sounds pretty sucky
132mph was just a random number I picked out of thin air
if if I changed rear springs, rear brakes to accomodate 15inch rims with 275 radials and a 3800rpm stall and t400 I wreckin I would get into the 9s as is on the tune now yet along when we ramp 17 or so degrees timing Into it from the 11 degrees it is now
took robbey for a spin while he was here on the weekend Gary and he was mighty impressed with how it goes
my first plan is some smooth runs to see what mph I can get right now, 20 inch rims, full interim and 11 degrees timing
then it’s back to dyno with some 18 inch rims and ramp it up to 17 degrees and head out to streets to make sure it still drives smooth
then em try do some full blowen runs and see what I can get again in a full trim, coil overs but with 18s and radials
Back when I did a run with old v2 blower and 8psi I maxed out 4th gear at just on 200km/h just before end of track
lights and times where not working that night
I’m confident I will get a high 10 in manual eventually
Think I will be hard pressed getting 11.9 on street tyres though
September 23, 2015 at 8:26 pm #9513Haha cava
i was jokingly saying when I go there I’m goin for highest mph slowest 1/4 time lol
September 23, 2015 at 8:33 pm #9514Not sure if every one on here knows but I got sick of breaking cv shafts so I got Roberts billet axel stubs and billet shafts from his VR drag car
stubs bs have been running 9s for a year or so with 1.4s 60 foot times and axels only did 2 runs before he got the VL with live 9 inch rear end
so now it’s just the tail shaft that’s the week spot but they handle some serious punishment so I’m happy to hold it on 4000- 5000rpm now and drop the clutch with decent tyres on
September 23, 2015 at 8:45 pm #9516Always wondered where he got them from. They seemed pretty tuff. Good score.
September 23, 2015 at 9:10 pm #9520Both from diff techniques
2 piece stubs
axels they say are unbreakable but I say anything is breakable
October 6, 2015 at 9:40 am #9882Well I thought the car was finished for mods
then I found this, so dont mind if I do
its is slightly more rear then a Mid mount designed shifter but I’m sure I can make it work and I feel my car is asking me to get it one
car is still goin awesome, well set up my go pro for some fottage that Ill post up here soon
