So harness is done and will be in the post this week
both sets of pipes are all welded up, no. 7 and 8 cyilenders pulled a bit so had to cut and re weld them to get them to line up
welded on 2 by O2 sensors to drivers side collector, 1 for PCM and wid band O2 and also welded on 1/8 NPT onto each cyilender 1 inch from head so EGT can go into any cyilender
got to weld all them onto passenger side as well then they are goin in for HPC coating next week
also split the fuel line and went into back of both rails and Y them back together before reg as I’m starting to push to much power for a looped fuel rail set up
also got inside plastics finished off the other week, crappy pic as its dirty but you get the gist of it
just need a igniter from EFI hard ware to convert positive low voltage spark trigger to a negative high voltage trigger fitted up and 2 plugs to fit before I fit glove box again
July 19, 2015 at 7:05 pm #8017So I have been flat out with work lately and haven’t had time to even touch the car
I finally got to it today and fitted my pipes that have been sitting in the shed for a week and got the harness 90% in so it will be ready when the PCM turns up, here is a pic of when I got it out of box
and I know some of my welds around EGT sensors are crap lol you don’t need to tell me lol

Posts: 5 777Hi mate, I have been away a while, first chance I have had to read through the exhaust work, bloody beautiful work mate. Have to be happy with that, awesome!!
August 19, 2015 at 7:12 pm #8529Cheers Gary, it was a huge job, and a massive step above making a exhaust, exhaust systems is now a simply job to me compared to extractors lol
haven’t posted much for a while, but it’s all together, wiring is all done, I run a 3 pin igniter, that takes the positive spark trigger and converts it to a negative trigger witch I can run my existing MSD system from
Iv got efi live and a lap top now, Iv found a kick ass 5l tuner witch is actually the guy my orgional tuner called in to help get my car goin back when I first got it goin
So we got a base tune and fired it up, it was good and I’m learning so much on how tuning works, my cheap oil pressure gauge has shat it’s self so we decided to stop there, Iv got a mechanical autometre gauge now witch I have to install now my hoist is working again
My stupid hoist rams blow out there seals and cost me $600 to rebuild them after one spat oil all over my shed floor
and also e85 just become available last week in my area so tank will be getting drained
so bit of road tuning first up and get it driving nicely, then on the dyno for some WOT runs then back to the road and track for final check over
also after smashing cv cages in under 1000km I now have billet axels and 2 piece billet axel stubs from diff techniques

Posts: 5 777So Pete whats the idea of the EGT in each cylinder? Is the ECU able to read all them and adjust each cylinder individually or is it so you can choose which pipe you measure?
August 23, 2015 at 6:10 pm #8684Cheers for the fix up
no real plan with EGT in each cyilendars , ECU can not read all, my Efi live can read 2 cyilenders and put that with data on lap top
i needed at least 2 as I have 1 now and second will be soon when I get second part to create dual wide band instead of single wide band like I have now with my zietronix set up, them same K type sensors can be wired to the EFI live if I want to
It was more of a why not put 1 in ever cyilendar over a why would I put 1 in every cyilendar
I just can not see a reason why not to, that way if I ever have any issues or doubts when I have 2 egt it’s a matter of 4 drives and 1 minute on each sensor change to see if 1 cyilendar is running hotter then the other (leaner) or colder
also so when drag racing I can see if there is a difference between say cyilendar 1 and 7
August 23, 2015 at 6:11 pm #8685Also fired up today and all seams good
next Friday is play time
August 23, 2015 at 6:19 pm #8687EGT’s have a huge amount of Lag excluding the Ethernet ones so pretty useless for anything but steady state monitoring…
August 23, 2015 at 6:34 pm #8689What are the Ethernet ones ?
August 23, 2015 at 6:39 pm #8691What are the Ethernet ones ?
MoTeC do em, they read pretty much in real time, I’ve ran the old style sensors in the past and they’re so laggy..
August 23, 2015 at 7:45 pm #8698Never new that Lj
cheers
motec sounds und a a little expensive already
