As for racing though i get a kick out of leaving LS and xr6t behind in a dirty old holden engine
February 25, 2016 at 8:25 pm #14573Gary. Camp. It’s the best part. U don’t need a hairdryer
February 25, 2016 at 8:40 pm #14575What you mean man it’s just 165kw with a bt1 chip…. Haha
Thats it! nothing like dusting a brand new cars in a dirty old VS haha

February 29, 2016 at 8:15 pm #14692So the manta has been running a little off lately, mind you Iv only driving it a few times since it was last tuned
but it was down on power and felt like it was shutting down
anyway I removed cats yesterday for a inspection
So these are 3.5 inch 100cpi cats that have done less then 300km total driving distance
1 was jammed down the pipe and caved in and the second could mave back and fowards about 150mm and also caved in
100cpi cats do not flow as good as people have told me, if you haven’t guessed the last cats on pacemaker extractors I was a little smarter and may have removed some parts to make them flow better so I never had this problem
February 29, 2016 at 8:32 pm #14693Bye bye cat.
March 1, 2016 at 9:06 am #14706Metal or ceramic? What causes this?
March 1, 2016 at 10:04 am #14711Metal core
Magnaflow i think they where
Just can not handle the flow
Heard of lots folding over, even my mates cammed ls2 folded over twin cats
Think they where x force ones
March 1, 2016 at 12:30 pm #14715I’d be chasing this up. That’s pretty piss poor. The next best thing from 100cpi is nothing at all.
March 1, 2016 at 12:52 pm #14716I thought this happened when the AFR too rich can overheat them ? I would be taking them back as Mr Cava says above
- Misfires
- AFR Cylinder imbalance
- Excessive engine or vehicle load
– Fuel delivery system or fuel quality
– Sluggish (worn out) O2 sensors
– Excessive backpressure
– Low compression - Poor spark, or weak ignition
-
- Bad exhaust valves on the engine
- Fouled plugs causing unburned fuel to overheat the converter

Posts: 5 777Yep killed one of mine (not quite as bad as that) with the crap initial tune/tb sync I had running mega hot on one bank…
March 1, 2016 at 3:12 pm #14722No Decell fuel cut doesn’t do em any favours either…
March 1, 2016 at 9:15 pm #14728It’s never run that rich at all, we had the old tune and tuner to be able to make a base tune for when I fitted LS PCM and it ran pretty dam sweet straight away,
slightly rich but nothing enough to distroy cats
couldn’t really care to be honest, when I installed them I really did think about putting flange on both sides of cats for when this day comes but then I decided against it as less joins means less leaks so my cats are welded to a 900mm of 3.5 inch pipe
ill just go from 100cpi to 1 cell all up, luckily e85 burns clean

March 2, 2016 at 9:00 pm #14761That’s exactly right Gary
